What was the name of the guy who was in the very first days of the Nats MLB board who was an O's fan and kept posting with different names but always had the same name somewhere in the post name.

No, I wasn't going to use his name but I was talking about RichinDC. He later retired and moved to Myrtle Beach and was on here for a little while as RichinMB or something like that. He first got fixated on Drew Storen and later Ryan Zimmerman. We rarely agreed on anything but he didn't threaten people or was overly critical of people (other than Drew and Ryan). He was okay. I think he got embarrassed on here and decided to leave.

Man, I actually liked Rich, he had some good takes.  For a long time I thought that he was Spidernat on this board but their posting styles are just different enough.

Kind of surprised he couldn't hang here.  He seemed like a guy that would enjoy the ball busting and negativity.

I wasn't on the MLB boards much for the last few years they were up so I didn't know he was battling cancer, probably took away a lot of the desire to argue baseball on the internet. Hope he's doing well.

I think he got annoyed at a few "tone it down" messages and posts, started posting some irate stuff, and then scrambled his password.  We did not ban him.

He's from New York so I would have thought he could have taken it and dished it out but I specifically remember a couple he took a beating on and that was it. Hopefully he's lovin life in Myrtle Beach.

Zimmm, usually. Loved to go on about 'great DC jobs,' etc. Was just more childish than effective IMO.

There are very posters I remember on here or anywhere else. Maybe less than a half dozen or so. My brain is cluttered enough.

But if I do remember them, it's easier because they are very good or very bad. :mg:

Can't believe anyone would take someone on an internet forum about baseball seriously. I'm not here to make internet fwends.

I read a lot of comments which expressed the sentiment " you can't be thin skinned to post here" A shame. That really means you need to tolerate jerks to post here.
The MLB board had its flare ups but not like here. People respected each other.

Anyone remember Flannys????

I definitely remember him threatening other posters. Then he flounced.

Oh give me a freaking break. I was on the MLB board under another name years ago and left because of the pains in the arses over there. Lots of good people but more than fair share of angry old dudes. And a few youngins.

Honestly I'm with you. I used to post on the mlb board for a few years before I found WNFF. There's a much higher ratio of signal to noise here - ie meaningful, insightful posts vs. nagging and moaning or straight up attacking. The only thing I miss from the MLB boards was Bob Carpenter directly and openly posting.

And that’s why Sofie and Actamaniac were “one and done” on this board????  :hysterical:

That's exactly the way I remember it.  Just less-precision trolling?

So one of yesterday’s threads “are you crapting me” has been removed from the Clubhouse???

Things are starting to get eerily similar to the old MLB board around here when threads {POOF!!!} begin disappearing.  :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:

GO NAAAAAAAAATS!!!

The thread didn’t disappear, it was just merged into another one. I don’t mind a rule saying no profanity in thread titles.
Plus, how many threads do we need on how bad the bullpen is?

I do remember Flanny. He knew Frank Howard in some capacity. Very sad when he died.
I hope you stay on here. You've always had some posts that makes one chuckle.
I know Sofie tried this board out but said she didn't post because of some of the people on it. Somebody mentioned Actamaniac. She was a lot of fun. I wasn't aware she tried this board.

Actamaniac there is one I have not heard from or about for too long a time. She was fun to read.
Flannys was a tavern owner and very passionate fan. A shame he passed before team hit its stride.
I run into sofie and Dave at the stadium from time to time. Always a pleasant  encounter.
Carp had his own thread but FP masqueraded as one poster or another
You were dlock? Correct?
