Somethin' to do on a snowy cold day. When's pitchers and catchers?
Feb 12th I think.
The Nats have a $6.5 MM option for Doolittle in 2020, with a $500,000 buyout, so unless his arm falls off, I doubt Sean will be on the market until 2021.
The handful of Phillie friends I have, don't even want Bryce. They see it the same way many of us do - he is not worth that contract and the headache.
They’re kind of dumb then. They would rather roll with Nick Williams and Aaron Altherr in RF? He would be a big boost to their lineup. And bring some fans and excitement back to the team. The only guys they have that seem to be locks to be top players are Nola and Hoskins. Moniak seems to be a dud as most of their first round picks have been in recent years. Having Harper will make it easier for them to attract free agents in future years. They need him much more than the Nats. I bet these same guys told you Joel Embiid would never play and Doug Peterson was a terrible hire.
This is a bit afield, but I wouldn't stick a fork in Moniak yet. His numbers got significantly better while moving up a level last year. They're not what you'd hope for from a #1 overall, but those numbers in high A from a 20-year-old certainly don't portend complete doom. And with Haseley now ahead of him on the ladder, that might take some pressure off.
According to sources including Rosenthal, meeting in Vegas with the Padres FO, including ownership.
Perfect landing spot for him...hope this happens...
Harper will fade into irrelevancy in San Diego. Good luck, man. Teams are bargain shipping now.
Game of the week to rotate between Yanks, Red Sox and Padres. And the Cubs!
Teams are bargain shipping now.
This entire exercise has apparently come down to Boras attempting to salvage his credibility...
Nice place to live while fading though
