Sports business is so broken. The owners act like entitled babies too. Subsidizing their businesses with taxpayer funded stadiums and cable carriage rights from millions of people who've never watched a game. And then put tools in place like team controllled salaries, salary caps and luxury taxes to keep their profits protected. In the end, all the owners, and players make artificially high amounts of money, and they all whine about it. I wish they could get rid of all of it, and just lets the chips lie where they may,

Also good athletes tend to be vastly underpaid in their early years and then overpaid in their later years.

No one seems to worry about how much the owners make. Unless they perceive their owners as being cheap and not spending enough. So owners are too cheap to pay for winners but athletes make too much--mull that one for a while.

sure tickets have nothing to do with the price the market will bear and everything with athlete salaries- owners are just good civic leaders determined to run their business with no eye on profits

Cost of everything goes up over time. Except gas maybe. It’s certainly not cheap to attend a game. Especially the parking and food.

Richard Justice predicted yesterday, Bryce to the Phillies and Machado to CWS. He also said don't count out NYY or LAD for either. No mention of the Nats.

Bryce picking the Phillies would have to be them simply way outbidding everyone else. He doesn't get to move to a West Coast glamor city closer to home. The Phillies aren't one of those "iconic" franchises like the Yankees. He may like ole handsome Gabe, but he liked Dusty and he likes Davey as well. That's a very small factor.
