A real utility guy like Gonzalez would be a really nice addition.

I would have liked to signed Schoop for a one year contract hoping for a bounce back this year.

I agree. Still not understanding how he could go bad so quickly. From his terrific year before. Thought it might be O's malaise but he didn't pick it up at all with the Brewers.

Reds are discussing offloading Scooter. MLBTR even suggested it could be a contract plus lesser prospect swap. Reds want pitching, and Scooter happens to be projected to make roughly the same as Roark.

That does add an issue that the Nats open a hole in the rotation but get back a 2B who isn't great against lefties. If that swap works out, does Lance Lynn make sense as a 4/5?

That's good because the Reds aren't going to trade Gennett for Roark straight up. In fact, they probably don't want Roark at all.

If Fedde is enough to get the deal done, do it.

Gennette hit .294/.335/.439 against LHP in 2018. And even if he does stink against LHP, fine, that's why you have Howie

Now the Reds are denying this, so it must be true.

I'm still interested in Greinke to be honest.

What does Scooter hit against us? Seems like .500.

doesn't look like we're signing Bour or Adams:

Gonzales makes the most sense if we're willing to pay him.

Nats even after signing Patrick Corbin are looking to add another starter. Wish list: 1 SP, 1 RP, 2B

Think that qualifies him as a "Nats killer." Anyone who plays regularly with better stats against us?

@JeffPassan
Sources: The Washington Nationals have engaged in multiple discussions to trade starter Tanner Roark, who is a year out from free agency and could make upward of $10M in arbitration. The Nationals continue to look at free agent pitchers to supplement their rotation.

Perhaps a sell low point for the Dodgers on Taylor?  Maybe we can move him to second base?

Wouldn't be much of a move.  He's decent there and he's played at least 2B at every professional level.

Taylor still has a high ceiling. Hes an improvement on Difo at the plate and will likely be more durable than Howie.

If he bounces back to 2017 form, you can trade him and Keiboom will be ready. If he doesnt, hes a decent bench player on a good contract for the next couple years

I didn't mean it was a bad proposal.  I meant you wouldn't really need to "move" him to 2B.  He's already played it a decent amount.

Problem is that 2017 looks like the aberrational year.  But still, just the 2018 level is still pretty good stuff if he can field 2d.

He hit well in the minors. When he got to the majors and was an every day player, he hit well. Even last season would be an upgrade. He's got good metrics at SS. I'd like to grab him and see what he does.

And like I said, if he doesn't work out, you at least have a utility infielder/outfielder to replace Howie next season.
