With Ryan Zimmerman going 8 for 29 in his last 7 games, and with MAT having a nice 6 game stretch (.300 average, .391 OBP), I'm feeling like life on the road is good for the Nats and that this is more the end of the beginning than the beginning of the end.
One real surprise for me is that the Severino / Wieters combo is showing some signs of not being a drag offensively. While Wieters's average is low, his .393 OBP / .500 SLG shocks the heck out of me. Severino, on the other hand, is showing his offense is not all BABIP driven, with a .286 average and a .405 OBP. I don't think anyone really expected our two prime catchers to have OPS's of .893 and .748. In fairness, the "its early" stuff applies here, too, with only about 70 or so plates appearances between the two, but so far the duo is not acting like a yawning hole.
