I think Vick would say anything right now to improve his situation. I don't think he truly feels remorse for anything other than getting caught. He wouldn't have been such a liar trying to save his own butt in the first place, he didn't realize that his fame and money wouldn't keep his hangers-on friends from giving him up when their butts were on the line. He's just doing this for PR.

It wasn't a vase, it was a planter, fully of rich black potting soil, and the white carpet was only two days old. And who woulda thunk that you DON'T use water to clean up a mess?
