Do you think our players will get rusty from the lay-off.

OK, since I still dont have a ticket rep can somebody splain to me the how the ticketing process works for the rain canceled game.
I had tickets to tonights game but couldnt make it so emailed them to a buddy of mine.  Now that the game is on 6/18 I can go but I do not show any tickets for that day on the ball park app or My Nationals Tickets.
Will try the generic phone # I have tomorrow to see what needs to be done.

As long as we don't leave them out in the rain they should be fine.

Last year it took them 1 or 2 days or so for the rescheduled game to show up in the web portal. The app is just another view into that, so I’d expect it to be about the same.

Tell your friend to tear up the tickets you sent (or delete the email) and then just use the tickets as if you had never sent them.

Go into whatever portal you forwarded them from and recall the tickets.  In MLB App in on the main screen towards the bottom under sent/received.  In your Nats account it's the my games, email seats tab.

...rain, rain, go away...

Thursday 17th (open) - 80% (rain)
Friday 18th (Dodgers) - 100% (rain)
Saturday 19th (Dodgers) - 90% (thunderstorms)
Sunday 20th (Dodgers) - 20% (partly cloudy)
Monday 21st (Padres) - 60% (PM thunderstorms)
Tuesday 22nd (Padres) - 40% (PM thunderstorms)
Wednesday 23rd (Padres) - 20% (partly cloudy)

...apart from some easing on Sunday, the same old same old. Also not too crazy about PM thunderstorms on Tuesday since that's when I'm flying out.

I think there's a good chance that Saturday's game can be played.

If you're gonna play baseball in the winter jacket and gloves weather of March and November, in the predictably rainy Spring, and blast furnace Summer heat and humidity, shouldn't retractable roof stadiums be a requirement for all new construction?

Every team somehow manages to get in 162 games...most of them without one...

True enough. Wonder, though, how much the Nats attendance would increase if the facility had such a "roof." Us hard core fans go out in any weather but ... in this age, gotta think there are loads of people who don't purchase tix/show up when the thermometer is below 50 or over 90. Not to mention rain. Might've been a short-sighted decision. All those ticket sale and concession revenues lost!

My only real experience with a domed stadium was the Astrodome back in the early/mid-eighties.

It was the most sterile, uninviting environment I could imagine.  A dome in DC would likely keep me away more than heat, cold or rain.

The indoor stadiums are nicer now. They do a better job. Also if the option is rain vs roof, I’d take roof. If it’s heat index of 103 vs roof I’d take roof. That’s the beauty of it being retractible. You only have to close it on crappy days.

Son gave me a calendar (motorcycle theme) years ago and one of the days had a rainy day picture.     The caption was:   "If you want all the comforts of home, stay there."

It’s all a moot point because retractable roofs are really expensive. taxpayers don’t want to pay for it (and they shouldn’t) and teams don’t want to pay. If Mlb were to require roofs, they’d have to grandfather in existing parks unless they wanted franchises dumped, and then no one would ever leave their current parks (which would be fine for a bunch of stadiums and complete crap in places like Oakland but either way wouldn’t result in a roof).

The DBacks are only averaging 25k/game despite having a roof and the lead in the NL West.  Unpleasant weather will definitely keep people from going out, but a roof won’t help that.

Yankees had to sleep at Dulles on Wednesday night. How does this possibly happen?!

Imagine if FP was their announcer. This would be an excuse for any loss for the rest of year.

Sounds like the crew timed out, and I’m assuming it was after the charter bus had left and they couldn’t get another bus to take them anywhere. That sucks. I’m surprised Delta didn’t have a reserve crew called up for a high profit charter like that.
