Why? Both teams are off Monday, August 6.

That would have the Braves playing something like 34 games in a row which the CBA won’t allow (and sounds like a bad idea anyways).

I assume you mean "days" in a row. They'll still be playing the same number of games over that span.  Do players care that much about a day off - and I do understand how precious a day off can be in their schedule - but is it worth the stress of a day/night double header?

Because I am flying to Honolulu on August 7 and they want to make sure I miss both games.  ;)

For next week's home series against the Mets, from weather.com:

Tuesday (evening fixture) - high 82, low 73, 60% chance of 'scattered thunderstorms'
Wednesday (daytime fixture) - high 84, low 73, 50% chance of 'PM thunderstorms'*

*this has been dialled down from 60% chance yesterday, in the tried-and-true weather.com fashion

Latest look at weather.com not too auspicious for the first part of the coming homestand - at least 60% chance of thunderstorms every day through Saturday (peaking at 80% for Wednesday's midday match); down to 30% chance for the Reds finale on Sunday, and looking better for the Braves series with 20-30% chance throughout.

It's improved a bit per the most recent weather.com hourly forecasts: chance of thunderstorms/rain for tonight's match dip below 50% at first-pitch time and continue that way for several hours thereafter...tomorrow's chances are hanging round 50% over normal playing time.

Still and all, it's so apt...rain (or at least rain clouds) hanging round like the clouds hanging over this franchise...

UPDATING: weather.com's hour-by-hour forecast predicts 15% chance of precip all through normal playing hours for this afternoon's match. Looks like game on!

Retractable roof, no problems. No one driving in from Richmond only to have the game called ...etc etc

What are the odds we get the game in tonight?  I've got Diamond Club tickets for my birthday!  Unfortunately I can't make it to any other game if they decide to punt tonight and do a double-header later.

Capital Weather Gang has said the worst is east of the city at this point.  You could check radar.  Near the  Mall at 12th, it has lightened up.

They waited pretty late to make the call.  Looks like another strong line of storms coming though soon.

CWG tweeted earlier this hour that there should be an extended break from the rain in the immediate metro area and said it was looking good for the game. Guess not.

Not raining here at park. I’m annoyed. I am not sure why they couldn’t call this an hour ago...

Cue conspiracy theories.

Looks to me like they could have gotten in 2 hours or so.
