Looks to me like they could have gotten in 2 hours or so.

Looks like the next line is going to stay west of town. Eh, whatever. Two doubleheaders in four days coming up.

It takes like an hour to drain the field, and Gio is on the mound and he’s slow as heck. Might not have made it through 5 before the monsoon.

It also occurred to me that with all the concert damage in the outfield, they didn't want to chance making it worse on a somewhat damp track tonight...

Grumble. The nats have played well against the Mets and last night. The Reds have not. Wrong time to take a break.

My first Nats experience was a rainout.  Oh well.   It was still cool, though.  I was like a kid in a candy store, buying way overpriced Bud Lite and every Nats swag I could find.  What a great ball park.  Looking forward to the double H tomorrow.

It may be overpriced but if you hit the Bud Light stand behind the score board, they have a "special" price before the game.   Plus, you get to watch all your millennial American cousins not even know there's a game goin' on.

I've taken each of my gfs/wives over the last couple decades to a baseball game or two  Nats Park/Fenway/Yankee Stadium and Mets stadium.  Every single game had at least one rain delay, at least one inning with me watching in the seats while they were hiding for cover in the concourse, and at least half of them went to extra innings.  Not a single of those games was less than 4 hours, and they're all road trips, so I felt some pressure to stay for the entire game.   I don't think a single one of my accompaniments thought that going to a baseball game with me was anything short of torture!

Oddly, every time I've taken a son or gone with a buddy, it seems to be perfect weather and an exciting, fast paced game.

Yup, it was a great game on Thursday night.  Perfect weather, Scherzer was dealing, the offense was rolling and Bryce absolutely crushed that home run.  Great night.  Sorry to those of you who were rained out tonight.

WTOP radio this morning was proposing a rather dire scenario for tonight ('possibility of heavy rain') but weather.com hourly forecast just now does not give higher than 35% chance of precip through normal playing hours tonight.

...pul-leeeeeze...we don't need any more of these 'non-doubleheader doubleheaders'...

It's raining. Hard. But the good news is this line of storms reduces the risk of severe storms later on today.
