No. They’re out because they suck. They were out I believe when the Vikings won today.

I'm not a 'skins fan on a lot of levels but they deserved better.     They exhibited a lot of guts through a lot of hardship.
Gruden is not a bad coach. He kept the team together. I don’t know how they move forward on the QB position?

I really respected their effort yesterday.    If they could only shut up Swearinger.

He’s not a bad coach, but I don’t think there’s anything to indicate that he’s a good coach either. He seems like a preferctly fine generic nfl coach - nothing innovative or ground breaking that’s going to elevate a team into a contender, but not a terrible mess that going to leave you with 3 wins either

Swearinger released.
Just so  we're clear,  get into fights, you stay in the team. Call out the coaches and you're released?

Lash out at fans- that’s cool, question work ethic- can’t have that. It’s like they’re embracing the concept of a dying franchise

He said in the interview on 106.7 that he thought one of the reasons he was released was he was too smart and insightful on defense.

Read earlier that this is the 7th out of 9 years with Allen as a GM that they’ve failed to make the playoffs, and 21st out of 26th since Snyder bought the team.

I mean, I’m sure he’s exaggerating a bit, but I bet a playof team sure could use him.

Clinton Portis just mentioned KC.     Like you, I believe he was caught up in the moment.    That's a lot goin' on for a Christmas Eve.

This has been a constant issue from Swearinger for months, not a one off blow up by Mason Foster.

It is a shame since Swearinger has some ability and looked pretty good early. It is like he and the defense fell apart when Clinton-Dix came aboard.

Norman has been criticizing fans regularly since he got here. I’m just happy the deal to sneak and RFK lease through congress fell through- Danny deserves to be relegated to Raljon

Cardinals claim Swearinger off waivers.

Don't they go in record order?     Guess he didn't get very far in the pickin's.       Cardinals probably had one of the top five shots at him.

Justin Herbert returning to Oregon, making a bad QB class worse.

Whatever happens Sunday, I am on board with bringing back Gruden and hoping Smith is healthy. Combine this being a bad draft for QBs and the cap ramifications, they're better off praying on Smith and waiting for next offseason.

But fire Bruce Allen. Bring in a GM. Breath of fresh air. Let that GM decide if Gruden is the guy to keep going with or if it is time to jettison.

They do. And the Cardinals have the worst record in the league. So you’re right, he didn’t even get past one team. Makes you wonder about the intelligence of Washington dropping him.

Snyder has fired Brian LaFemina, the president of business operations, and three of LaFemina's assistants. LaFemina had been recruited from the NFL head office; perhaps sent from HQ to try to revive Snyder's failing franchise.

Quote
Initially granted broad latitude by Snyder to overhaul the Redskins’ ticket operation, Lafemina worked quickly and on multiple fronts. He started with transparency — acknowledging in June that a season-ticket waiting list the team had claimed numbered 200,000 no longer existed. He instituted single-game ticket sales; launched special promotions for government employees, scouts and service members; wrested unsold seats from the hands of brokers who had been selling division games to Cowboys, Eagles and Giants fans, with the goal of improving home-field advantage; removed obstructed seats; upgraded stadium amenities and vowed to “treat [fans] the way they ought to be treated.”

The initiatives were based on Lafemina’s eight years in the NFL office, where he served as liaison to the league’s 32 teams, helping develop and disseminate best business practices.

Quote
Patience has not been a hallmark of Snyder’s 19-year ownership. Nor has collegiality been a hallmark of Allen’s tenure, particularly when he perceives fellow executives as smart, self-directed and a threat to his authority. Heading into Sunday’s season finale against Philadelphia, the Redskins have compiled a 59-82-1 record during Allen’s nine seasons in Washington.

The team has also failed to make the NFL playoffs for a fourth time in Jay Gruden’s five-year tenure.

But it appears as if Snyder has concluded, in evaluating what went wrong in yet another disappointing season, that the team’s weakest link is its business — more so than its performance on the field, in NFL drafts or in free agency.

It appears, to me, that Snyder has given up competing with the Caps and the Nats, and, maybe, the Wizards as well.

Wow.

Redskins finally admitted reality on waiting lost, got more aggressive marketing, and tried to reinvigorate gameday operations. Of course they fire that small breath of fresh air.

Bad feeling Allen is back. FedEx attendance will be worse in NFL next year.

I feel for you guys...it's no fun having a crappy team and playing in arguably one of the worst venues of all professional sports (it's on a par with the Pfitz as far as I'm concerned).
