It wasn't as glaring as against atlanta but this is the second week in a row in which the pass rush got handled. If they keep fading it will be a big problem.
Kerrigan has had a bunch of "almost sacks" but so far hasn't produced like the past few seasons. Hoping for a big second half from him.

Preston Smith just hasn't gotten the job done. He and Ryan Anderson showed some signs of life against the Bucs, but still not great.

No edge rush. In a way,  its ironic.  For, what. 25 years, Skins fans have wanted to invest in top interior defensive line talent. Now that they have it, they cant get anyone off the edge.

I have more concerns over run defense. A lot of analysts are pointing to them holding big name RBs to low yards, but the Skins are middle of the pack in rushing yards allowed per attempt. Frankly, I think they've simply gone up against bad playcallers and one dimensional teams

Smith's and Kerrigan's "almost sacks" are deceptive because in most of those plays they don't bother the QB. I don't even count them as pressures because they miss them as they are being driven away from the play. They need to mix in some inside bull rushes and swim moves from time to time because their edge rushes are not getting home enough to make a difference.

I fear they may be starting to fade in both run defense and pass rush. But they need more help from the LB's.

My enduring image of Kerrigan is of him not quite getting there

It’s amazing how having a QB who doesn’t make mistakes helps a team. It doesn’t matter if Alex misses some throws, his value is he doesn’t make big mistakes

The TV crew is speculating that Smith will be out for the season.  I wasn't paying attention...what happened?

Got sacked but I didn't hear the specifics on the injury.

Colt time!

Redskins defense just getting dashed defensively today. They're an insane Preston Smith interception, the great Foster interception, and the weird fumble/INT to start the half from this being a huge Texas number. Just ugly.

Let's see if Colt McCoy can keep this going. I have watched football long enough to know usually the amazing backup QB comebacks end with the backup falling apart after the game gets tight.

The Redskins were plus 11 in turnover margin coming into today. And now + 12. That’s why they have a winning record.
Dallas won again.

If McCoy was in the entire game, we win. Alex Smith sucks so freaking bad, glad I don't have to watch him the rest of the year. Too bad still two years to go after it.

I hated everything about the last couple minutes of that game. I hate Gruden letting clock tick to 2 minute warning instead of taking timeout at 2:17, I hate the the long throw on the final third down where even a catch runs out the clock and ends game, and then I really hate the final FG attempt instead of an attempted first down on the sidelines throw. Either way was very low odds, but Hopkins just isn't a guy who pops to mind as someone you take that chance with.

Next week is the biggest game of Colt McCoy's NFL career. Redskins win and they have a two game lead in the final stretch of the season. They lose and yikes.

Guessing that’s career ending?  Theisman tweeted that it’s the same as his injury.

Whether it's career-ending may depend on how it heals. Theismann couldn't play again because his healed in a way that left his right leg very slightly shorter than the other.

Theismann's career ended on November 18, 1985, when he suffered a compound fracture of his leg while being sacked by New York Giants linebackers Lawrence Taylor and Harry Carson...
