I'm sure that is generally true, but in the case of flu it may not be, depending on the immune response triggered by that specific strain.

I seriously doubt he actually had the flu.

Or did you mean the specific passage I based my comment about immunity response on?

No, just looking for a book to read at the beach and that sounded good.  Thanks.

Agreed.  At least you see more reporting of "flu-like symptoms" in recent years.  Still, the occasional "he ran for 140 yards and had 3 touchdowns all while suffering from the flu".

Starts off a bit slow on the evolution of medicine and public health at that time, but then gets much more interesting when bodies are being stacked up like cordwood.

My opinion hasn't changed.  Offer him a decent 5-year deal.  If he doesn't accept, do a Q.O. If he doesn't accept, take the draft pick and move on.

I'm a bit of a history nerd. I'll probably like the first part best.

Take this crying whypipo discussion elsewhere. Back to the topic at hand - trade him to the Jankees for Gary Sanchize.

I seriously doubt they would do that trade.

Why would the Yankees want two months of a .215 hitter?

The difference is he has several years of team control left and has been dealing with an injury all season

Trying to figure out what that means and the only thing I can find is white racist.   How'd you come up with that?

I'm 700 pages into a biography of U.S. Grant.  1072 pages.  I'll lend it to you when I'm done if you're interested.

I'm worried he will sign the QO...
That would be great for Nats. I think him averaging out to his 2017 self (5 WAR) and that is a really valuable player.
