He is the Johnny Manzel of baseball

I wonder what happens in a situation where a player is eligible to report, but a team bars them
The main instance where it is used is when a player is suspended by the league as the result of an on-field incident, but it can also be initiated by the player's own club in the case of unacceptable behavior (such as a player getting into an altercation with his manager, a teammate, or a fan), or a violation of team rules related to chronic tardiness, possession of alcohol or reporting to work intoxicated, missing a doctor's appointment, et al. The Suspended List is used more liberally in the minor leagues, mainly because minor league players don't have the protection of a union.
Sucks to be a minor leaguer, work conditions that would be illegal without a union...
did we ever get any detail on what he did?
Sounds like he missed curfew repeatedly. (Where did I read that? Maybe here??)
Huh? That makes no sense...And ask any of those guys if they'd rather be playing baseball or working at Popeye's...
They make like $1100 a month. And that’s only the six months they play. They don’t get paid for spring training or for off season workouts. This also doesn’t include any allowance for housing. They certainly have the option to walk away, but let’s not pretend these guys aren’t being exploited by billionaires. They would certainly make more money and have more workplace protections working at Popeye’s
any news?
I checked Twitter, sad story, he was killed in a staged mugging after having leaked a bunch of emails.
you forgot the signing bonus of a few million
My guess is he'll be more motivated after he exhausts his $2.8 million signing bonus. So we'll see him June 15th or so.
I am a positive guy so I am all in on Seth and very happy to see that he is reporting to Hagerstown. I made mistakes when I was young too, so I wish him nothing but the best. He is an immense talent so if he can keep his head on straight he will be a key in our future. Can't wait to see the young man on the mound.
