Chased the Bridgestone around this morning.    What a great day for golf.
Gonna try and get nine holes in later.

I made it. Good thing it stays light until 9 as it was slow going. Played nine twice this week. The good news is that I broke 50 each time. The bad news is that there are no par fives and par is 33. My driver is totally useless so I have abandoned it for a 3 wood. I probably shold try and find a driver that is more senior friendly.

Callaway Fusion's on my wish list.    It's supposed to be pretty good for older (slow swing speed) types.  Only problem is it's more expensive than all my other clubs, clothes, shoes, cart and golf balls combined.    :)

Verdict (golf pro review)

Ideal for golfers that can’t keep the ball in play regularly but who don’t want to lose yards by switching down to a hybrid or iron off the tee.

Something to think about  ...  if you don't already, try the forward (gold) tees.

Thanks for the tip. I googled the price.

This course has three sets. I was playing the forward and middle tees depending on the hole. I really need a set of irons/hybrids also as I basically have started set from about twenty years ago. New clubs are so pricey when I know they won't make that much of a difference. I may look for some used or demo clubs.

I'm too cheap to buy new clubs.    Plus, I don't know if I have enough time left to break 'em in.     :old:      The key is ya gotta play.    I usually get out once a week     (I could do more but then it becomes a "job".)      It takes me 18 holes to get somewhat right and by the next week, I've forgotten what I did.

I have an old Cleveland clearance driver ($40).    No other club in my bag costs more than $20.    Neighbor was gettin' rid of his cart so I took it.    :)

Guess they've been cuttin' the grass.    Some say it's because of all the rain.    Some say the golfers are whining.    One thing for sure, it's a long course.        I'll miss the morning stuff (have a tee time).    Hope to catch some of the action later in the day.

The 613 yard par five would be like my front nine.

There's a hole on a course near Fredrricksburg that's close to that length  ....  I'm thinkin' Meadow Farms something or other.

When I saw the fire I assumed the Nats bullpen was there.

    They wouldn't have been there to put the fire out.

Yep, sounds like our bullpen.

Walked 18 this morning.    If it weren't for the nice walk, I wouldn't play golf.    :)
