Camera went to Holts and his wife when the Schmidt pick was announced.  Both were visibly saddened...

I don't know if Trotz will make it to 2018.

Caps will enter the season likely as a slow, overpaid, 5-years-past-their-prime team that has seen the league pass it by. And Trotz hasn't shown he can be flexible and adjust. The move of making Reirden an associate coach to keep him on the staff tells me he's the interim guy once Trotz is let go. Not a good thing to have weighing over the team!

Good goaltender, some good forwards, two and a half good defensemen....we won't be winning any trophies unless by some miracle our younger guys develop into studs.

Cant believe he took so little money.

What a waste

Unlike some DC athletes, he wants to be here...

He's an idiot. This team will be a WC team at best next season. After that, rebuild.

Glad TJ is back. Don't care about giving him 8 years.

Eh. We're out of the second round with or without him next year. We should have just started the rebuild early. I do like Oshie, don't like 8 years, but I'm sure he'll be worth more than that gigantic freak Orpik who I'm hoping is in a dungeon basement right now.

I don't understand the rebuild stuff. You are never going to get fair value for Ovechkin or Backstrom or Holtby. Nashville got in as the last team last year and made the finals. Hockey playoffs are a crapshoot.

They're a crapshoot. Unless you're an Ovechkin/Backstrom led Caps team. Then you're as predictable as a Swiss clock

In tomorrow's Post, the Style Invitational has the following as an honorable mention:

Quote
O is for Ovi, each season the best.
P is for playoffs (well, you know the rest).

Well I guess Ted's happy with 2nd round playoff exits every year. Someone should tell him deeper playoff runs = more home games = more money.

He must have you on ignore. Or this just demonstrates what we knew all along in that he doesn't really read the posts he responds to.
