Pretty dumb loss. Probably didn't deserve to win but they were 1 out away and you get beat by Andres Blanco and Freddy Galvis. :spaz:

Sharpen your pitch forks for when Pap comes back to DC.

Absolutely agree with this. The inning plays out a lot differently if they switched Werth out.

Probably not. That catch was not easily made by any one.

Werth didn't lose this game.

A better defender wins this game.

Absolutely not knowable. That was not any easy catch.

Had a bad feeling he was gonna blow it. Werth in LF didnt help.

Werth sucks. MAT sucks. Pap sucks. What's new?

Actually, "the club" ERA goes up, Phil.  The team's ERA was so low that 3 runs in 10 innings makes the ERA rise.

Yes, Werth should never be in LF at the end of close games anymore. Agreed. Sad but true. Papelbon was not sharp today but its just 1 game.

That was a playable ball. Go watch it again. Werth tried to slide and was still 2-3 feet away from the ball.

Yep. Not excusing Papelbon, but Werth's defense didn't help.

Its one game but Pap did not look good in earlier games either, lot of hard hit outs. He doesn't strike anyone out and his stuff is very hittable. I hope Dusty has the balls to make a chance sooner rather then later or he'll blow more games.

On a team that's been so strong early, he's really the only big weakness(besides Taylor I guess but he's not supposed to be starting anyway).

It sucks but we still took 2 of 3. Just keep winning series and we'll be just fine.

I'm surprised Paps threw as many breaking balls as he did. The first two were crisp, but it was all dogcrap after that.

This. You get it. He doesn't have closing stuff any more.

According to FP, Werth was in tight to throw the runner out at home.  It was two outs!  CATCH THE FRICKIN' BALL AND THE INNING IS OVER!

Trying to throw somebody out at the plate is nonsense.

Eh, I get it if he was trying to keep the runner from scoring on a line drive or ground ball single in front of him.
