Slate - that is precisely what I was trying to say

In gender-neutral terms, you frequently come off as a boring, uncreative, unthinking miser who manages to be pissy and miserable at anything available.  That, unfortunately, reminds many people of their current or former spouses.
I'm freaking sick & tired of you complaining about everything.  Slate - you're worse than a wife

Leave Slate alone. It's good to have him here. Makes the rest of us look smart.

Plus it's less risky than arguing with our wives.

I only have one, thankfully.  Any more and I think my life expectancy would be negative.

Dusty's just taking the public blame.  Fans want someone to blame, and Dusty would rather have it be him than his guys.  TBH I don't care who's "fault" it was and I don't care if they decided to just let the chips fall where they may, considering the length of the game and the heat.  I don't think for a second that Dusty got confused over who was on deck but I don't mind him taking the blame in front of the media.  They're not who he answers to anyway. I'd say it's a safe bet that the people Dusty actually answers to know exactly why that sequence went down the way it did.

This is exactly what I was thinking - he's protecting his guys and is willing to take the public blame.  And my guess is that the other screw up where he supposedly touched the wrong part of his body was not on him either.  I suspect he's secure enough to take the public blame rather than hanging a player out to dry.

I often joke with the missus, "You know why husbands die before their wives?"

"They want to."

Someone else touched the wrong part of his body?

If you guys really have such an issue, why not just use the mute button?

I had Slate muted the first year I was here, but everytime I saw a quote back he was making sense on roster construction so I unblocked him and now I like him.

He is definitely a troll, but there are good and bad trolls.  He's a good one.

this begs, absolutely begs, for a post from Exposfan about the latest with his spouse.

Where is the fun in that? The give and take is half the fun. And if you mute, you don't read all the smack they're talking about you. Well, maybe you don't have that problem. ;)

Didn't she run off with a circus dwarf only to die in a horrible walrus accident?

"I saw Patti at Tim Horton's the other day when I was on a break from work (I work the late shift these days) and going to get a #2 combination with a large coffee, but she was too engrossed in a conversation with her friend Serge for her to notice me.  I remember it was Thursday because it was very hot that day, and Patti was wearing a type of tights that have more holes than fabric pieces and a skirt that was not very long. I thought this was strange because she was also supposed to be working late too and she works in a dentist's office where they wear medical scrubs and it would be cooler when she left, but I guess it is important to stay cool under the medical scrubs.  I also thought it was strange that she did not bring her own car to Tim Horton's but instead got a ride from Serge and when they left they went in the opposite direction from her work and our house.  I did not like the Tim Horton's that day - the coffee was too hot, and as we say in Quebec, 'si le cafe est trop chaud, l'orange n'est pas bon,' meaning approximately that poorly-made coffee does not make the meal alongside it better, but rather worse."

I couldn't live in the DC area if interacting with and hearing the thoughts of boring, uncreative, unthinking misers caused me much discomfort.

Worse, the Mets are a mess so he is too sad to assume his alter ego.

It is so difficult to hear the impact of poorly-made coffee on your joy of fine pastry.
