I'm freaking sick & tired of you complaining about everything.  Slate - you're worse than a wife

I'm freaking sick and tired of Baker not starting Turner.

This isn't last year where Matt Williams played some bums in front of him in a lost season. The Nationals are in full contention and have some talent up the middle. Danny Espinosa has a lock at short. Murphy may be the NL MVP if he keeps hitting. Stephen Drew is mashing every time he gets a chance. As long as Turner is playing more days than not I'm happy with him up.

He hasn't been playing more than not. He's been not more than playing.

Which is a problem. But we'll see what happens once everyone gets healthy or at least healthier.

But if they want to use him like they did the Reds series where he got one start and two days on the bench then they should just use Difo or Bostick.

We're seven games up on a division that is basically over. The Fish ain't gonna trade away the house for a couple starting pitchers (and even if they did, so what?) and the Mets are freaking done.

This team has to find out what it has in Turner BEFORE the deadline. You have to figure out first base for the postseason and you can NOT rely on Ryan Zimmerman.

I haven't heard a peep this year about Chris Speier. Isn't that the job of a bench coach. Plus they could have given the sign after the first pitch if they had forgotten. They need to get a real bench coach and not another guy who will cat nap with Dusty.

Yeah it really makes no sense at all. Dusty is covering for someone.

Second time. There was that weird hit and run where he said he just touched the wrong part of his body and a guy went. If he's covering for someone else, that's good leadership. If he made a mental lapse, well, he is an old man and it was the 18th inning and Solis was unavailable so like, Pérez had to keep going and it wasn't looking good anyway. I don't care.

You are right. I stand corrected. Thought it was the second pitch but looked through the replay.

In gender-neutral terms, you frequently come off as a boring, uncreative, unthinking miser who manages to be pissy and miserable at anything available.  That, unfortunately, reminds many people of their current or former spouses.

I can't entirely blame the manager there.  The pitcher and catcher also have to know who's on deck.  Also, the Pirates had just pitched to Espinosa with a base open and Perez on deck, so the Nats weren't the first team to make that decision/mistake.

There's been a few articles about Speier handling the Nationals infield alignments.

There is a dugout full of well paid coaches and the catcher and pitcher also should have noticed Niese on desk. The buck stops with Dusty, but that was a complete team screwup and I almost wonder if they decided just to pitch to Marte since they were running out of pitchers and wanted the game to end one way or another.

This. There is no excuse at the MLB level for this. It's like on July 4 when the Brewers batted out of order. Frikkin clown show.

No excuses for Dusty and his staff. It's good to come clean (unlike one Matt Williams) if you make a mistake as a leader. You come clean too many times with your mistakes, though, and you will be out of a job.

Dusty's just taking the public blame.  Fans want someone to blame, and Dusty would rather have it be him than his guys.  TBH I don't care who's "fault" it was and I don't care if they decided to just let the chips fall where they may, considering the length of the game and the heat.  I don't think for a second that Dusty got confused over who was on deck but I don't mind him taking the blame in front of the media.  They're not who he answers to anyway. I'd say it's a safe bet that the people Dusty actually answers to know exactly why that sequence went down the way it did.
