Matt Williams is a bad manager because he tries to force a good result rather than making a right decision.
It was the absolute wrong decision to let Scherzer hit but Matt, likely, didn't trust the bullpen in that spot so he let him hit. That's terrible process. You make the right decision on the front end and then let the results happen. If he'd ph for Max and we didn't score then the bullpen came in and blew up, that still would have been the right decision even though the result was bad. You never try to force a good result because you can't control the result. You can control your decision making.
