Harper gave a fan a Play Station 4 at the All Star Parade
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2523188-bryce-harper-gives-fan-playstation-4-at-2015-mlb-all-star-parade
At the parade, the 22-year-old hopped out of his truck and gave away a PlayStation 4 to a lucky fan.

You are all a bunch of wusses

 Damn that is some body dysmorphia level BS right there.  If he's willing to do all that (unhealthy) crap for one magazine feature, makes you wonder about actual models.  I don't like it.  Disturbing.

He effectively was one. Guys on those workout mags or Men's Health do the same thing every time. So do body builders right before competition.

Hell, lots of high school wrestlers do similar things to make weight before twice-weekly matches. Not as extreme, maybe, not with as much hocus pocus and special juices, but pretty close.

Ideally for me,

Denard
Escobar
Rendon
Harper
Danny
Zimmermann
Werth
Ramos

Those bottom three can be mixed around a little but I don't see any reason to do anything else. Danny second would use his speed, sure, but then where do you put a singles-machine like Escobar? Rendon third gives him more RBI opportunities with all the slugging he does, same with Harper.

Ramos has been productive but I think you hope Zim and Werth will be a bit more so if they can get healthy, also less threat of a DP. I think Werth's power will be sapped for the year. Pray for good things from Zim.

Why would Jordan Zimmermann be in the lineup?  Where would he play?  I'm sorry but I just don't get this.

 ;)

Escobar will never bat behind Bryce for the same reasons Ramos shouldn't: ground ball machine that is slow.  Escobar is an ideal bottom of the order guy once everyone is healthy.

Hmm...I guess you can swap them then, but I still want Harper hitting 3rd.

Agreed, I like Bryce and all of his swagger and sassiness but this just makes it seem he might love him some him just a tad too much.

before I go that far, I'd want to know what the other people in that issue do and whether or not SI suggests that prep

Hmm good point, I mean professional athletes obviously have to pay strict attention to what they eat and have great workout regimens but man this just kind of seems short-sighted,

Quote
He shoved raw, white potatoes down his throat because he knew the glucose and glycine they contained would run straight to his muscles — which yearned for something, any kind of nourishment they could find.

“It makes you pop,” Harper said. “It makes you stand out.”

like it made his body look spectacular for the photos but consuming nothing but raw juice for a week straight?  Adding salt to his water so he could hydrate without consuming calories?  Was that good for his body in the long run? I'm really curious, I've never worked out that hard core so I really have no clue but it seems kind of extreme for just a photo shoot.

I don't think any of us are in a position to judge a professional athlete's nutrition and workout regimen. Especially Bryce, who is obsessed with being a professional athlete to an insane level.

Unless one of us is a nutritionist or something.

True that, certainly working for him so far

What does that even mean?  It's a wonder he didn't choke to death.

I actually almost see it the opposite...like he's so insecure and wants to look as good/better than others have in the past (I bet you anything he was thinking about Stanton's feature and not Prince Fielder's!)

I'm not a nutritionist, but the body needs variety, and drinking just juice and spitting out water doesn't seem healthy to me.  The potato thing is just weird! XD

I mean it just seems odd that someone who (theoretically) doesn't drink caffeine, alcohol, and whatever else Mormons restrict themselves from to keep "pure" would be okay essentially dehydrating and starving their body like that.

I have a strong feeling that Harper will fall apart in the 2nd half the of the season and our chances crash and burn with him.

I'm not in that great of shape but I still love myself.  I probably have to since there are a limited number of others who do.

Are you often wrong with your strong feelings?  I hope so. Expect some drop off since his first half was just so good.

based on what exactly? Do i expect him to hit 50 bombs with an OPS of nearly .1200? no.. but his approach, plate discipline, and % of hard hit balls really indicate he will continue to hit for average, power and sustain his walk rate. his progression and development has been amazing, if you can't see that you're blind. this is no fluke

A feeling. I told you in my previous post. It's a feeling.

Most likely because no team I have ever followed die hard has won a championship.
