If he hits free agency, I think he's gone, but getting to free agency isn't a foregone conclusion

Based on his current trajectory, I have no doubt he'll hit FA and sign a big deal.  The only question is the amount of ¥

Just curious - if you're on a winning team, one which keeps spending to keep itself competitive, how much $$ is required to get you to switch to a team which is scuffling along on promise and a past?

Werth left a championship-calibre Phillies team.

No doubt money was the biggest factor. As you know, I've been pretty outspoken about how these guys rarely pass up the opportunity to cash in. I don't blame them either.

Is anyone going to ask him about Kay Varner before a beat reporter from an opposing team?

I doubt beat reporters from opposing teams care enough to even know who that is.

Hell OUR beat reporters probably don't even know, or care.

Non story. He wised up and realized that someone young who end up with hundreds of millions of dollars doesnt settle for a 6.5

Uh oh: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/nationals-journal/wp/2015/03/05/harper-to-hit-third-zimmerman-fourth-in-nationals-spring-training-opener/
Of the two, it makes the most sense. If Span or Rendon get on, Zimmerman is the best chance to get them in on a ground ball or sac fly. Bryce speed, if he can avoid being a freaktard on the basepaths, can be useful when Zim hits it in the right/center gap.
