They could just use him situationally... like whenever they play the Nats.

his velocity is absurd. Could be top fastball speed avg in Majors for a starter. Still firing 97-98 in the 5th.

He fell apart in the 6th, but not a terrible outing.  Arrieta was better (not surprisingly).

So the first 6 weeks have been pretty much our worst-case scenario other than Bryce, Yunel and Max.

And we're 1.5 games behind and the Mets are coming back down to earth a little bit.

Not too bad.

12-4 over the last 16. Good things happening.

To get to 90 wins the Nats have to go 71-55 the rest of the way. Very doable. 95 wins is also possible.

I hate to throw cold water over all this celebration but the fact is that until this series, we have played only two good teams and we were overmatched by both.    Chance are we're overmatched by the Padres; I think this series will tell us alot about our team.

We'll win the division because we'll beat up on NL East teams all season.  But right now I don't see much sign that we'll go deep in the playoffs.   Starting pitching was supposed to take us to the Promised Land.  Right now, looks like we have only one elite pitcher.

get to the post season, then hope things break right- it's better to win a weak division, then to get bumped to the wild card in a good division

We played both teams extremely close, and we had just gotten Span back for the St. Louis series.  I wouldn't worry.

I'd say relative to expectations Danny is having the best season on the team.  Which says a lot about the expectations for Danny (and for Bryce...)
