I was predicting a 6-0 loss to friends because it's opening day and people think that day one will be indicative of the season and not the chaos that is baseball.

Still loling that we got smoked by Fartolo Colon.

Fwiw, we had a convincing od win in 2013 with two Harper bombs, that meant nothing. M

Ian Desmond is one of the few people in the world that can make a human being long for the city of Detroit.

I'm disgusted.

Looks like a carbon copy of last years team.

Outstanding pitching and the occasional power shot, but overall hapless offense(particularly against mediocre soft tossers)and a defense that commits errors at the worst time.

We'll still likely win 90+ games once we get the lineup back healthy, but we'll have plenty more frustrating games like today where the offense doesn't do anything.

The only two really reliable bats are Harper and Zimm and one of them struck out twice today.

Ramos needs to figure it out. His bat is key.

He trashed Detroit.  It's a sore subject.  I'm still a warm and fluffy individual.

Ramos was so bad. Desmond and Zimmerman are supposed to be the veteran leaders and they pissed themselves out there.

same old stuff, lose at home in the big spot. Lineup is actually not good at all. No excuse for losing a game with the way Scherzer pitched.

This was supposed to be the easy one. Now they get to face DeGrom and Harvey. Oh and also a pissed off Cole Hamels this weekend after his disastrous outing today.

Just about what I suspected all along.  Surpsirsed at Harp.  Maybe he really is gonna blow it up this year.

Over Desmond.  Dude is a clown.  I hope to God we don't re-sign him and he is going to regret not taking our original offer.  Absolutley pathetic, impotent offense.  I feel like I'm watching a video on loop with Ramos and the way he rolls the ball over slowly to short.  It happens in about 75% of his ABs.

I don't want to hear about our 1-3 hitters either.  Werth is getting older and has a serious shoulder injury, wouldn't be surprised if he struggles a bit all year or gets injured again.  Same thing with Span, and his injury risk might be even greater.  Tony is our best by a long shot but he can only do so much.

We could have had Donaldson or Kendrick or Zobrist, but we balked.  This club does not have enough offense, not even close.  Best pitching staff in maybe 2 decades, and can't score a mother #$%#$%^@$##$ run.

Maddening.  Told you all.  83 wins, no playoffs.  Thankfully our true tormentors this year don't have a fan base, but if the Mets are in it late you can expect Nats Park takeovers almost as bad as Philly.  I can hear them chanting overrated right now.

f this.

Wait till Stras gives up 5 runs and 3 homers over 5 on Thursday, and we probably allow Harvey to carry a no hitter into the 8th.  LOL.  we are going to be the laugh stock of mob.  get ready

I'm convinced Harper is the only competent hitter on this team. He's the only one that comes through in big games.

Werth and Rendon are injured though this argument is wholly a straw an argument.

I hope everyone stays away from sharp instruments tonight.  It's a long long season.
Hitting will be a problem. Especially the lack of lefties.  That's why I don't think they win more than 90.

You're 15 pages too late, guy. The season ended over 4 hours ago.

1 for 27 for hitters not named Harper.  What's up with that?  It wasn't a playoff game.

I have a hunch we are going to see a lot of this same sort of play this season...lights out pitching and no offense or defense...

I suspect the same.

Even the Disastros easily won their home opener today. Shame on the Nationals. :smh:

The Nats faced the worst starting pitcher out of anyone starting today (narrowly beating out Kendrick who shut out Milwaukee) and did nothing.
