I always thought that all baseball parks had to point NE to avoid sun directly in batter/pitcher eyes but digging a bit this evening it turns out that isn't the case.

'The sun rises in the east and sets in the eyes of the right fielder' - old Boston saying.

Now we know why the Nats wanted Black so bad, to tie in with their new big beer contract, say hello the the Bud Light Scoreboard.

Twitter is all abuzz that this might mean the end to local craft brews at the ballpark but I don't believe that.

Atlas Brewing has confirmed that they will be at Nats Park next year. Appears to be that Bud is replacing Miller but the locals are unaffected.

Yes. Well, maybe...

Coors sponsors the whole damn park, and they still have some of the best brews in the country flowing. It's not an issue.

Sort of. The larger companies that own the two brands are merging, but Bud and Miller will continue to be operated separately in the US. I can't imagine that Miller products will disappear completely from Nats Park, just as you've always been able to buy a Bud or a Bud Lite there.

1B should point sorta south. It's where the term "southpaw" comes from.

And no one takes mitlen's lunatic ravings as seriously as you apparently have.

Hey, be nice.      I was thinking they could have used the old cement factory as a plaza outside of CF   ....   like Pittsburgh or San Francisco.   Who really thought there'd ever be a "monument view" from the ball park?    Can't wait to see how they f*** up the soccer venue.   DC mayors have always sold their souls to the developers.

And no one takes mitlen's lunatic ravings as seriously as you apparently have.

"The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me 'till I'm sane
You lock the door
And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me."

Did they sell Bud at Nats Park last year? I didn't think they did, but since I don't drink it I wouldn't necessarily remember. My understanding is that Miller Lite and MGD are out and Bud and Bud Light are in.

District Brews (or whatever it's called) remains the same.

They used to have Bud products for sale but not the past few years.  They went exclusively with Miller. Now back to Bud sounds like.

The Nats are looking for a new Clint, before I even learned the new guy's name, time to go with a hottie.

Got married, changed her name (maybe got work done, she doesn't look the same in her Twitter pic), and she's expecting.

Did either the Nats or MASN can him ?  I'm glad to hear he's gone.

He wasn't a MASN employee. He was the one who did the pre-game and between-innings contests and stuff at the park, sort of like a head cheerleader, if you will. He went to Ohio to take a job as a sportscaster.

Probably couldn't afford to pay the Lerners what they were asking this year...

They definitely had Bud and Bud Light on tap in a few locations through this past season, and vendors would occasionally sell bottles in the seats.

I distinctly recall Bud being available in the 300's last season.
