On the other hand some businesses give you cheaper if you pay cash. Yes cash is harder to keep track of. Just ask the IRS.

I'm increasingly seeing a 3% discount or so if I use a debit card instead of a credit card.

All of the small business owners I know have to pay a processing fee for credit cards but not debit.

I had about $2,200 in car repairs last month. The dealer had a 3% surcharge if paying by credit card so that was a no-brainer. I paid in pennies.

(Actually, they accepted a debit card with no surcharge)

We’re moving soon. Three percent added charge if credit card. They do Zelle so that will work.
