So I know you guys are all rock dudes or whatever, but here.

this is 51 seconds of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin by the Wu-Tang Clan

the importance of this, for hip-hop, is that there is only ONE, SINGLE copy of this album in existence. It's not being pressed and sent to record stores, or released commercially. Nobody in hip-hop has ever had the sheer ego to do something like this.

It'll be sold to the highest bidder, and apparently the lowest bid thus far has been 5 million. The buyer will own it and be able to do whatever they want with it.

I'm guessing that digital music provides (Apple, Google, Spotify, etc.) will be the main ones bidding for this album, as being able to offer it exclusively will be seen as a major "get".

also, apparently CHER, is on the album.

That is freaking awesome.  Slate should write a proposal so we can get BAE Systems or SAIC to buy that thing. Maybe they can name an aircraft carrier after it.  "USS Old Dirty Space Tub"

the springsteen channel on XM has been playing a lot of Bruce's covers of other songs from his live shows.  This is the oddest one i've heard so far.

Barry Gibb can write.  The music really did not need much interpretation, either.  Nice use of the acoustic guitar, too.  Lyrics work for Bruce, but I'm not keen on using the big band with added strings.  Morello is wasted, too.

Tobias Sammet makes some of the goofiest crap out there, but it's always high quality goofy crap.

Yeah, ever since Lavatory Love Machine I feel they've gone off the wall  .  Avantasia is still more "serious" power metal.

they also played Rock and Roll with JPJ and Page (and Grohl on drums).  Afterwards Grohl told the crowd that this was the greatest day of his life.

He's also in a band with JPJ and the lead singer of Queens of the Stone Age (them crooked vultures).

I'm tempted to pin this post, if not the thread, so I can just listen to this for the rest of my life.

Seriously, post-game concert with Grohl or GTFO.

My new favorite song - "Happy" - would be a good at bat song

It might seem crazy what I’m about to say
Sunshine she’s here, you can take a break
I’m a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don’t care baby by the way

[Chorus:]
 Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
 Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
 Because I’m happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
 Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do
