Which one of these was posted when you were on your meds and which one when you were off?

...and Gio was developed in Oakland, Fister in Seattle.  None of the others were called up just to sit on the bench.  They were called up, they played.

Taylor should either play every day (or most days) or he should be down at Triple A. Putting him up here is a waste. If Werth is healthy, there's no reason to have him up here as a pinch running option. Eury Perez will do just fine.

Gio and Fister were acquired by the development of our minor leaguers. Player development brought us two good starting pitchers through the 2015 season.

If we could ever get a dominant lead he'd be in the 2nd half of the game. That should be happening more.

I also see him starting day game after a night game.

I agree. No reason to let him get a random PH AB every now and then. Sure, he needs to see some major league pitching but I think it'd be better if he were starting so he could get more ABs. If they're not going to do that, send him down.

Unless rules changed after 2013, Taylor could have been on the post-season roster even if he was not called up in August. Teams get to replace guys on the DL at 8/31 who are still on the DL at season end with guys on the 40 man roster as of 8/31.

From paragraph 2 on UMD's link:
Quote
2. Generally, a post-season eligible player who is on an MLB Disabled List (7-day, 15-day, or 60-day) at the conclusion of the MLB regular season can be replaced on his club's LDS, LCS, or World Series Active List (25-man roster) by any player (regardless of position) who was in the club's organization as of midnight (Eastern) on August 31st, including players acquired from another organization prior to midnight on August 31st and minor leaguers who were not on the club's MLB 40-man roster at that time.

I just don't think it' fair to call up a prospect that you expect to sit on the bench for the majority of the time. It doesn't do him any good and, frankly, it doesn't do the team any good. Play him consistently.

I don't agree. There are callups for development, and there are callups to use your depth and get the best man for every job. You want the best guy ready to go in case something happens to someone else. With Souza and McClouth both hurt, Taylor is the best option. Frandsen or Hairston would be a liability in CF. Anything could happen at any time to anyone. Pinch hitting is an important part of the game. 5th inning, down by 2 runs, rightie on the mound, leadoff pitcher spot comes in, our pitcher is at pitch-count...who would you call on? Remember we are only up by 3.5 games. Field your best team and bench your 2nd best team. This mentality of if you are gonna call him up, play him is some re-building mentality from 5 years ago.

A.J. Cole has been talked about on this board as a bullpen arm for the end of the year, not a starter. We have plenty of starters already, since Tanner Roark might get bumped to the 'pen in the playoffs.

I hope not.

If anyone but Gio or Stras gets bumped I will lead the charge with pitchforks.

You might want to go to Home Depot and get some pitchforks then. You have not been paying attention. I don't disagree with your opinion of what should happen, but this is the team that makes game day decisions in 2014 based on first impressions the front office had about a player in 2010.

I don't disagree with you.  But, when it comes to Strasburg, we have only 2 roads to go down.  We either send him to the pen and watch his mental state fall below the point of no return, or we continue to treat him as the Ace and hope that he eventually rewards us by becoming one.  I relucantly have been knocking on door #2 all season.  I just think this message board is full of "what have you done for me lately" types that live or die by how a player performs on any given night.  I'm not ready to give up on Stras and still think he can be just as dominant as everyone thought.  We just need to be more patient and let him work through his issues.

As for Gio, I knew as soon as this Biogensis stuff started floating, that he was done and we would regret signing him to a big extension.  I don't care if we give him the Det treatment and relegate him to the bullpen for the remainder of his contract.  I'm over him...

Strasburg should absolutely get a start at home, the thought of him on the road is not pleasant, but at home he is everything he was hyped to be

Seems that the team needs Taylor to replace Souza, who was promoted because Jayson Werth has been playing through several injuries: ankle and shoulder, just for two. McLouth is gone, so they need a 4th OF. Would have been Souza, but his shoulder is bad enough that they sent him for an MRI. Taylor probably will get spot starts to rest Werth and will go in a late-inning defensive replacement.

Would have been better if both Souza and Taylor had played regularly in Syracuse, but...

Do not bombard me with hate because I am just asking a question... I do not closely follow the prospects but is Michael Taylor the one who was using his middle initial during spring training because he did not want to be confused with another professional athlete then entered a spring training game and made multiple errors within five minutes?
