Fedde and Gatewood are my two don't wants. The medical and the frame make me want to stay far away from Fedde. Gatewood's floor scares me. He has the possibility to be god awful.

Not worried about Fedde's size or injury. TJ clearly isnt a long term issue and his frame is reminiscent of other highly regard players, including our very own AJ Cole. I get not buying on his stuff (I dont think hes a #1 necessarily) but I wouldn't be worried about the rest.

Definite downside on Gatewood but the upside is big time. Might as well go for the big time. You could have tje next Tulo.

The Nats' front office is the most predictable in baseball. Not a huge fan of the pick but with that said Welcome to the Nats, Erick.

They should just draft the real Tommy John in the next round.

I think his upside might be higher than that.  No sense in going for an injury guy because if his upside is #3 starter, then the risk/reward doesn't make sense.

I'd hope they see a #2 SP in Fedde. Someone compared him to Jordan Zimmermann in another scouting video.

You cant draft for immediate need in baseball. Even college bats are a few years away so  I think you go BPA.

I think Fedde fit that at that point. He was ranked top 10 before the injury. He has great command of his fastball and is a very good athlete. The down time after surgery and the rehab process should allow him to get stronger overall. Maybe add a couple pounds to his frame, but more importantly, add a little more stamina/durability. The athleticism should allow him to get back to form once hes back on the bump. I dont think hes an ace but think theres definite 2/3 potential.

Pitching is always valued more. As in impact on the club and as value in trades. I dont have a problem going another arm in the first.

Definitely need some bats and some youth in the lower levels of the minors though.
