He had never pitched beyond this point in his entire career.

:lmao:  By that logic Trienen would never pitch beyond the 5th inning.

House money is when you're winning
We put our 7th starter out there against the best pitcher in baseball with a rather potent lineup behind him and, frankly, Treinen pitched well. Those hits were on good pitches and 90% of time, they're outs.

That's a terrible basis for making a decision ESPECIALLY in a 0-0 game!  He had never pitched beyond this point in his entire career.  There was no evidence, no data point for sending Treinen out for another inning in this situation and expecting a good result.

Who gives a crap, his performance validated Williams decision, Treinen pitched VERY WELL in the 6th.  If you had described the contact he would get I would take that anytime, any inning.  Too bad the defense sucked, how the hell to you expect Williams to anticipate that?

Why start tonight? He was making a spot start and had already gone above and beyond what we wanted. Now the outing is ruined.

Why start tonight?

Because you and PC aren't letting the rest of us see your crystal ball. It's pointless to talk to you about certain things.

Watching live from the bleachers, Rendon's hands and the ball disappeared.

The ball reappeared in left field as friction took its toll.

NO!  You use other data points to make the decision.  What's the score?  Who's the opponent?

If we were leading 5-0, I would have had no problem sending him out there again or against a lesser opponent.  This was not the right time to do it.

Williams' fault, should have pinch run for Rendon.
