Do MVPs in the minors count for anything?

micheal taylor was named rookie of the year in the EAS league so almost 3 MVP in 3 minor league teams. Gilioto was named best pitcher in the SAL.

Slateman, it doesnt mean much but it probably means we have some really good talent coming up no?

I dunno. Seems like if you're good enough to be the MVP of a minor league, then you should have been promoted before the year ended.

Last night in a 4-3 Suns win, Difo went 3for5 2HR 2RBI.

Breakout year for Nationals prospect Wilmer Difo. Gigantes made toolsy infielder the 3rd overall pick in the Dominican League draft.

What's his defense like? Might need to get him playing some second base to get him up to the majors quicker

The Lottery Ticket: Wilmer Difo, 2B/SS: The Nationals had a couple of pop-up prospects in pitcher Reynaldo Lopez and Difo. The latter player is intriguing for a few reasons. Firstly, he’s already 22 and has five years of pro ball under his belt. Secondly, he’s never displayed offense like this before. Thirdly, he showed both pop at the plate and speed on the base paths while hitting .315 with an .831 OPS.

I think Blorg Luskin made one of his off the wall observations that Difo would be in the mix for 2d base this year.  Still think he's nuts, but . . .

They are not going to rush him but expect Turner at SS and Difo at 2B in 2017.

Makes sense...at least as sensible a prediction as we can make in 2015. Issue: who plays 2B this year and SS next?

Escobar

Here's hoping, although Escobar seems to have been sliding downward last season.

What's the stadium like down there?  I'm hoping to take in a game in Salem some time since I get down in that area occasionally.

Salem is nicer than Lynchburg. Liberty University has a nicer stadium than both. None of them are bad places to watch a game.

I'm kinda hoping the Difo just rakes in high A this season and gets a call up around draft time; basically because I just want to see him and Turner play together in AA.

Could be a shift in thinking for our future middle infield. If Difo can continue to hit at AA, with his age and status as already being on the 40 man, he may be the rookie to make the club next year. Could see Difo at 2nd and Escobar at SS, and Turner getting more experience in the minors.

Nice to have some options.
