BP did a book a few years ago and he was essentially the case study for a chapter on why RBI's are an overrated stat. He dominates the top 10
"worst" 100+ RBI seasons, meaning that with the lineup ahead of him getting on base like they did a good hitter would have driven in many more.

Not that the Nats excel in driving in RISP.

As far as I am concerned, the Braves curse has been lifted. We have put up 10 runs against Braves pitching this series and Nats pitchers not named Strasburg have only given up 2. Now if good Gio shows up today, we got this.

Justing winning the one is the difference between a one and three game swing, this series is already not what the braves needed

The worst we can be coming out of the series now is 3.5 up (one game swing), where as if we'd been swept we would have only been 1.5 up (three game swing). The Nats, of course, can also make a one game swing in their favor with a win tonight.

If you buy into the theory that the braves are into the Nats heads then you should be thinking the tide has turned (they've won 3 out of the last four) and the Nats will be playing free and easy tonight.

Then again, on the positive side, last year on this date last year we had won 3 in a row but were still 14.5 games back of Atlanta.

Exactly. As long as the Nationals play like they have, they'll make the playoffs. In fact, I'll call it now, the Nats win the division and the Braves don't make the playoffs. Of course, this gets Fredi fired . . .

well we are off today so if the Braves beat the Dodgers tonight we start our next series only up by 3. Tomorrow night the Braves are pitching Minor against Haren. Dan owes us a favor for all the sucktitude he gave us.

That's almost impossible. Dodgers want to give all of their studs extra rest. So Braves face crap ass Correia, Carmona, Haren, and then one good pitcher in Ryu.
