They didn't dominate us last night. Strasburg crap the bed like he often does in Atlanta. Otherwise, we put up six against their "A" pitching.

It appears that the Braves will continue to dominate us this year.  We have 8 games remaining with them.  Our best hope for a division title is to hope the rest of the NL beats up on them.

As a coach, perhaps he has bitten off more than he could chew.  As a player I would take him 99/100 times against Sweet Lou

Cal Ripken

I recall BP did a thing on his defense where they ended up ranking him the 2nd best defensive shortstop in the recent past few decades, behind only the Wiz.  Cal was a master of positioning, he could read the pitches vs the hitter and seemed always to be shading the right way.  And he was a decent slugger at a position that didn't have many.

I'm pretty sure/hoping that is more of a local hatred than true hating on someone like Cal who helped to revolutionize the position into more than a defense only position.

Sorry, but this claim of shortstop once being only a defense position is silly.  Anyone remember Honus Wagner ?

If your best choice of SS not being defensive forward is someone that played over 100 years ago, you're not convincing me.

Nice spin, but the position hasn't been just defensive for over 100 years

No spin at all.

I would imagine that as far as offensive output goes, over the last 100 years, or 20 years it would look something like:

1B
RF
LF
3B
2B
CF
C/SS
