Rockies were in a death spiral until yesterday and Tulo has been playing his ass off trying to stop it.  Guy probably needs a break.

Upton is injured and Gattis is a catcher. And the Braves don't need this win as much as the Rockies do.

The Braves just fell out of first for the first time in two months yet this is a meaningless game.

Plus, we really believe that SF is concerned about the rockies' season.  :smh:

Rox are 11.5 out. Braves are in a dogfight for their division. Who needs to win it more?

We're sitting one of our starters today, too.

Last night's Rockies win was a total bonus.  They're playing about as bad as anybody in baseball along with Tampa.  I don't expect any help from them today.  Hoping the Angels do some damage in Atlanta this weekend.

The Braves are 1 single game out and they get 4 games next week vs their whipping boys. Colorado's season is on the brink of disaster, they need to win every game they can.

the Rockies' playoff odds are at 5.8% http://www.baseballprospectus.com/odds/ their season is basically over at this point, the braves on the other hand are still in a penant race

These prospective odds seem a bit odd to me.  We have a better chance to win the World Series than the Giants or Dodgers, while both of them have better odds of making the playoffs than us.  Explain that.

They have better playoff odds because the Braves and Marlins are stronger than the Padres and Rockies. We have better WS odds because we have the best rotation.

They feel the giants/dodgers have a better shot at making the playoffs by way of the wild card.

pretty much, the odds of a wild card team advancing should be half that of a division winner given the extra round

You act like every team goes out and decides how hard to try each day based on the standings, and that their level of effort determines the outcome.

George Mason's finest.
I was listening to AM570 driving in this morning. Andy Polin was interviewing some former Redskin from the 90s including the superbowl year.  The also talked alot about George mason, for some reason.  The Redskin talk was very interesting. (Mason talk wasn't.)    Never figured out who it was because I got to my parking spot before I they mentioned who it was.

A one game lead after 7 games out west? I would've taken that in a heartbeat a week ago.

On Jun 13th 2013 we were 5.5 games out from Atlanta. Bryce Harper, Stephen Strasburg and Wilson Ramos were on the DL.

I was just wondering yesterday how much better shape we were in this year but I was too lazy to research, thanks Vicki

Manny Acta was right when he said Nationals have talent to get super hot for a month and pull ahead. Hope we're seeing signs of that. Good to have Zim back.
Good call so far Manny. Hope it continues.
