I hear ya.    Some folks think any personal opinions that question the goings on are LOD'ers or want the Nats to fail.    There may be a few of those people runnin' around but for the most part, this is Natsylvania.    :P    My comment was tongue in cheek  ...   My intent was to imply that some have been waiting over a year to pull out a standing that shows the Nats in first (not Smithian particularly).    Don't remember seeing the standings posted last year.
I've been waiting to see us up there, hope it stays that way. Really wanna see the squad freak Kershaw's return up.

Oh yeah  ....  I wanna see a five game lead (minimum) by Memorial Day.     Even then, it's not enough.

Been waitin' a long time to post this, eh?     :)
Darn right I've been waiting a while to put a firest place standing out!

And I agree with spider. Standings equal realityou and reality is the Nats have played well through injuries in a very winnable division. If they can stick near the top until Zimmerman is back then I believe they can win this thing comfortably.

I think that I would have had plenty of respect for Williams hearing a leaked report that he let his feeling be known in a closed door meeting. I lost some respect  hearing it directly from him.

ditto

I hated him benching Harper.  HATED IT. I know some people were all "oh yea that'll teach him" well it hasn't done a darned thing and I thought it made Williams look like a petty little man, and then the public dressing down afterward was just over the top nonsense.

I'm fine with just a regular sized opus.

Matt Williams is a rookie manager with no experience, doing "rookie manager with no experience" crap.

He'll figure it out.

His decision to put Detweiler in the bullpen isn't working.

It's not. However, Tanner Roark is a better starter than Detwiler.

McCatty needs to work with Detwiler on his warm up procedures. Maybe Detwiler is going to be one of those guys you can only bring in on a fresh inning with a lot of warm up time.

Detwiler did well in relief in prior years. Something seems off with him like the fire is gone.

Limited experience. And, IIRC, the most he spent in relief was when we were starting Wang for 3/4/5 innings and Detwiler was coming in relief of him. So he would start prepping a couple innings in advance.

I'd like to see him work on prepping quicker and just using him for a batter or two. Almost like a LOOGY.

He just gave an interview on 106.7 while driving to the park- got rear ended by a guy running from the cops, barely acknowledged it- definitely a calm composed guy

McCatty is a terrible pitching coach.

I was listening to that, hilarious. Guy has what it takes I've decided post that interview. Cool as a fan.

I was not running from the cops.  And I did not hit Williams.

I wonder if he was on one of those ramps from So. Capitol St around the Park.

I hear cars virtually disappear from view when you ascend a ramp.

Gotta give him props, he was doing match ups in the 8th. It wasn't solely, hand the ball to Clippard because he's the 8th inning guy. Now I just wish he'd use Storen more like a closer but not in the 9th inning.

My only issue with Williams right now is his refusal to sit Desmond who has been killing us with his play.

He's not going to sit Desmond - not for any length of time anyway -

He might give him a day off here and there

Not sure I disagree with that

Now is not the time to sit Desmond, if he hasn't started to turn it around by the time Zimmerman gets back, then you sit him.

You used to be a really, really good poster but ever since 2012 when the Nats turned into a pretty good team your posts have become complete shtick. You're a better poster than that.
