Mike Trout has sucked this October.

Bryce is one home run better

After three seasons, Bryce Harper still cannot:

1 Lay off breaking stuff in the dirt.
2. Hit lefties well
3 Take the ball to left field.

Fangraphs says the book on trout is that he can't hit high heat. That's all he sees now.

And 0-7 today in a game we had to have. This is life with Bryce. Just couldn't have that monster postseason

He stopped the go-ahead a run in the ninth. The game would have been much shorter if he hadn't.

It was interesting to hear Smoltz point out his .172 average with RISP tonight, and "it's even lower with 2 outs."  Bob and FP never seem to mention that.

and that would have been a good thing.

Looking back on it now that they lost anyway, it would've been more fitting if Posey's slide had been smoother and the winning run had scored in the 9th while Drew Storen had been on the field for another crap he took on the Nats and their fanbase on national TV. As it ended up, he was in the dugout and the Roark had to be the one who yielded the losing run.

I don't see the point in criticizing Harper for his lack of hitting.  There's been no offense on the part of the entire team.  And the one very exciting moment in both of these disasterous games came when Harper hit a 445 ft. homer.

That was the one exciting moment if you're a fanboi. ZNN's gem last night was exciting for 8+ innings.

Yep, he's done at 21

Lot's of players are busts at 21. It happens.

Timothy Beckham and Matt Bush come to mind.

Bryce Harper is his own worst enemy. He has no idea how to calm himself down. His emotions own him. In three seasons, he hasn't learned what to do with pitches outside, nor what to do with breaking balls.

His ceiling is a poor man's Josh Hamilton. ~.275 average, with 25-30 home runs. While nice, he's nothing to get excited about. He damn sure isn't a prodigy anymore. He isn't on pace with the greats like he was even last year.  We would be ecstatic if he becomes JD Drew.

His tears are only overshadowed by his horrid slumps.

So far it has just been partial tears of body parts.

FWIW, Mike Trout is batting .083 in the ALDS.

At least give him a chance to have a year when he's totally healthy and then judge him.

He's totally healthy now. And he injures himself because of stupid mistakes. If he doesn't want his play to suffer maybe he should learn to run the bases and feel the warning track.

Harper's case is different.  Jeter gets all the wussy he wants without being married.  If Harper is true to his religion he doesn't have that option.
