Wren's out, wonder why they didn't wait until the end of the season?

Their season is over...

Only partially Wren's fault. He built an awesome pitching staff. Problems were lots of injuries, and Fredi being the second-craptiest manager in baseball. But Wren does get the blame for B.J. Upton.

The thing is the injuries predominantly affected the pitching staff and they still performed remarkably well. Just out of curiosity, who is the one manager you think is worse than Fredi?

Based on what I read on the interwebz, Matt Williams must be.

They have a lot of offensive problems:
- Chris Johnson had a terrible year.
- Simmons can't get on base.
- BJ Upton should be in AAA

And Gattis is a horrible catcher who ought to be DH'ng in the AL,

A team with Justin Upton, Freeman, and Heyward in the lineup (who all had good years), plus that bullpen and starting rotation, should have been much much better than 2 games under .500 with 5 to go.  Maybe it's not Fredi's fault, but generally when teams underperform the manager gets the boot.  Maybe Chipper is managing them next year.

Hart is a decent choice for GM.  My guess is he gets the house in order a bit for a couple of seasons, acts like the heavy if Fredi gets canned, and then the Barves make a play for Dayton Moore in a couple of seasons.

:lmao:

Not once, but twice, there have been playoff clinching celebrations in Atlanta this season.  What else can happen, a perfect game against them before the season ends?

Whodathunkit...Braves 4-16 in September to date? Losers of 10 of their last 11? Lost their 81st match of the season yesterday so one more loss clinches a losing season? And now two opponents punch their post-season tickets at the home ground of the Lobotomised Legion in as many weeks?

Don'tcha love it....

There were times during the season when the Braves were winning, and it seemed they were largely doing it with mirrors, winning matches with luck, and that they might experience a dry spell or two in the later going...but as late as July I had no idea they'd turn into the rip-roaring dumpster fire they are now...and isn't it fun to watch!

Front page picture in today's Pittsburgh Post Gazette shows the Bucs celebrating in the Atlanta visitor's locker room.    Sweet repetition.

There are rumors that not only will the Braves rent out their visiting clubhouse to the NLCS, NLDS, and World Series victors for their celebrations, but that they are also offering to host a parade in downtown Atlanta for whoever wins the WS.

Heyman is saying that they're keeping Fredi

A sign of a messed up organization is announcing that you're keeping a questionable manager before you hire the guy who ostensibly should have a big say in that decision.
