I can't see the game or hear the radio. So: please explain why neither Hairston nor Haren could bunt Moore home from 3B?
They didn't try to bunt.  They both had pathetic at bats.

Hairston could easily have done so.  They kept the infield back and shifted them such that the first baseman was playing halfway between first and second.

It's not looking good for noble. He needs the Nats to go undefeated the rest of the way to win our wager.  :lmao:

Hairston's throw sucked as bad as his at bat.

If I was the owner of that team, I would fold the rest of the season.  Is the owner allowed to do that?

It would be considered ungentlemanly, and the owners are all swell chaps etc.

I can't believe it.  How bad this team is.  Every night I sit down and figure they're bound to snap out of it and start playing like we all know they should.  It just never happens, they seem to get worse every game.

That was another horribly managed inning by Johnson. With Sluggo at first, 3-2 on rendon, he should have called hit and run, and if he had, Sluggo could have scored.  But he didn't, and then, just hoped for a hit instead of trying a squeeze with two horrible batters.  3-homer Johnson at his best.

Let's face it, last year was a fluke. It was our chance and it got flushed down the toilet by the likes of Gio, Davey and Storen.

Well a sac fly would've done it.  How many sac flies we have this year?  3?

He always waits for them to come through with a hit with runner on third and less than two outs. And it never, ever happens.

Refuses to tell the crappy #8 hitter to bunt with the whole right side of the infield open.

Not a skill set we have, hitting flies out of the infield that is.

Sad but very true. :( What can we expect next season? More of this crap?

I mean obviously this team cannot hit and they will not magically start hitting with runners on again next season. That's disappointing.

I checked.  Dodgers have the best caught stealing percentage at 45%.  We are at the bottom of all MLB with 13%.  Next worst is Detroit with 19%.  :hang:

My two teams are #1 and #2 at something!

We had a golden opportunity to win the World Series and blew it. We will most likely never have so much go right for us in one season like we did last year.

It's tough to say because I have to hope something can be done to improve this crap but barring major upgrades I will say 85 wins and  I lowballed them by 10 wins.

I feel the Nats could've beaten SF in the NLCS although I'm not sure they beat the Tigers. What do you think?
