I don't think he will ever be a 25 HR guy. He is much more likely to be a .300 hitter with between 15-18 HR. I think the team definitely needs more middle of the order presence but outside of Cano, it just isn't there. I will admit that as much as I'd love to have Cano, I'm not inclined to watch a guy deteriorate into his late 30s making 30 Million a year.
If Espinosa gets healthy and can hit .250 with 25 bombs and 20 SB, would that offset the pain of losing a guy like Rendon in a trade? That's even speculating that the Nats trade for a bat that doesn't seem to be out there or pitching.
Also, a realistic move might be bringing in someone like Brett Cecil. I think he could be had relatively cheap and would definitely help the pen out on the left side. I am a little concerned to see if he can repeat his success.
