I'm a big fan of Werth and what he's done. I kind of agree with him about the "fluke" nature of several of his injuries and that they really aren't reflective of his body just breaking down. He does seem to still have a little something in the tank, but I think the AL is where he belongs after this year. He could still play a little LF/RF for somebody, but he mostly needs to DH. It's not that his body can't handle playing the field, but he's just not a good enough defender anymore. I'd rather have a versatile guy with more speed and a better glove like Goodwin as a 4th OF.
I have a feeling there is going to be a little "magic" with Werth to close his Nats career. It would be so sweet to see him get some big hits and then be in a parade celebrating a World Series.
