Now we have to win 3 in a row vs Hudson, Maholm, and Medlen on the road just to win the series.

Best case scenario they get a split. No ground will be gained.

Stras has been essentially Jordan Zimmermann this year: playing pretty well (at least after the first inning) but getting absolutely no run support.  11 base runners should plate more than two runs.

Worst-case scenario this team plays so bad we'll clamor for Riggleman to get us back above .500.

I would LOVE a split right now.  Hell, I will take one win.  The Braves own us.

true, I guess my aspirations of us taking 3 of 4 were delusional. It's just so hard to accept that this team is not what we thought they were. Last year they beat everyone, opponent didn't matter, location didn't matter home or away.

Agreed, I'm just looking for a win.  That's what 8 losses in a row to the Barves?

Forearm tightness for Strasburg, being examined by doctor. Davey says too early to know about next start.

No, no he hasn't, Stras isn't nearly as steady as Zimmermann was last year.

Probably why he was more comfortable with the offspeed.  Didn't have to pump as hard.  I've usually seen his curveball at around 80 but he was throwing it only in the mid 70s tonight

Whatever.  I have already accepted that he will not live up to the hype.  Mark Prior.

Did Davey just say "crap" in his post-game remarks?

sigh. This Strasburg injury is giving Davey and the team a pass on the terrible game they played. The story is Strasburg instead of the team that continues to underperform.

Forearm injury could just be tightness, a tear like Garcia, or another bout of TJ.

It was an expletive but I'm not sure it was "crap".   But, I'm a little hard of hearing.

Yep, my thoughts exactly, Strasburg pitched well enough to win for a team with a decent offense.

he wasn't the issue tonight though.   6IP, 2ER, is a fine performance.  Not dominant, but i'll take that from any starter any day of the week.  ERA down to 3.13 as well.

10 hits, 2 runs, 2 pick-offs was the problem tonight.

I thought something along those lines as well.   I'm gettin' this ugly feeling that if the season goes to crap (or even where it is now), the company line is gonna be about the "injury bug".

Paging Chris Young :?

Who lost again today,  of course the Chiefs scored no runs for him so he'll be used to it here.

He has a 9.00 ERA in two starts.

Rosenbaum has pitched the best in AAA but mostly with smoke and mirrors. 8 BBs to 5 Ks in 23.2 IP. Won't work in the Majors.

best move is probably to put Stammen in the rotation and backfill his bullpen slot with Perry.

Don't worry ,this team has a long window of opportunity, we are going to win multiple World Series.

Sounds like a workable option.
