Sounds like a workable option.

changed that to Perry, the AAA staff has been horrible so far.

he wasn't the issue tonight though.   6IP, 2ER, is a fine performance.  Not dominant, but i'll take that from any starter any day of the week.  ERA down to 3.13 as well.

10 hits, 2 runs, 2 pick-offs was the problem tonight.

Yeah, I said as much earlier.  It was a very 2012 Zimmermann-like start: some struggles, but mostly efficient, with no run support.

In fact, in Strasburg's starts this season, he's gotten 2, 3, 1, 1, 2, and 2 runs of support.  He's had to be perfect otherwise the team loses.

He stinks. Romero needs to be called up ASAP. We could use him in pen. Slot Duke into the 5th spot.

The difference between winning and losing a one-run game:
BASERUNNING - Washington
Picked Off: C Tracy (2nd base by G Laird); D Span (1st base by J Teheran)
BASERUNNING - Atlanta
SB: J Schafer 2 (5, 2nd base off S Strasburg/K Suzuki, 2nd base off T Clippard/K Suzuki)
1st   J Upton singled to right, J Schafer scored.
:run:
Of course, there will be NO discussion of this by DaveyJohnson or the coaching staff.  Just shuffle along to the next game... rinse and repeat... rinse and repeat...

That was an insane move to get Span. A lot of guys would have been picked off there.

Only 2 runs off 10 hits. Sounds like the Nats alright.

We have been a terrible baserunning team for years.

And terrible at clutch hitting.  Their approach seems to always be to swing for the fences, which hardly ever works.  Meanwhile, other teams beat up on us with bloopers that fall in and seeing-eye ground ball singles.

Yeah seems like guys are still pressing trying to be the hero. Last year we were pretty good at clutch hitting, this year not so much.

Stras was basically Dr. Jekyl/Mr. Hyde tonight. His command was streaky. I was watching on ESPN and the broadcasters were mentioning something with his shoulder...
