Stras got Diaz in a rhythm.    Run with it.

Was that a clean play by Dan Uggla? Yes.

Is Strasburg wussing out if he doesn't brush Uggla back next at bat? Yes.

Last time we had a pitcher with some balls was Jason Marquis (and he sucked!). Every other time we have a pitcher pitch inside they look scared.

He has no control and he'll probably bean him in the face.
Good.

Sanity

Except that's not really true. He had two seasons in his prime in which he gave up 10 and 16 runs in 1st innings but that's the entire season. Strasburg has yielded 7 in the first month of the season.

Just when I thought I'd get a reprieve from FP's foaming at the mouth, along comes ESPN announcers that sound as bad as baseball announcers in the 1960's & 70's.

FP:   "St. Stephen is a strike-out guy.   Be that guy."

Thank you FP!

Sanity.

Aligning with reality.

Mentally sound.

Perfectly cognizant.

Strasburg needs to listen to Rick Sutcliffe.  First inning leave it in the pen.  Control is night and day better.

what

The whole concept that we should not hit their starter because their relievers are better is moronic (mo for short).

We should pound their starters and force them to abuse their bullpen.     :whip:

That's not what I said. I said there is no rush to run up his pitch count. We need to score runs while running up his pitch count or it's pointless. If we knock him out after scoring 5-6+ runs that is awesome. If we only score 2 and knock him out in 4-5 innings it's not good for us because of their bullpen.

I always thought "mo" was "homo.". At least that's the context I have always heard it used.

not many bullpens can be good for 4-5 innings.  it is always good to get to the bullpen especially at the beg of a series
