Does anyone know if there are different rules for ineligible players downfield on punts when the punter runs to one side (australian style)? I ask because the Ohio St punter was doing that all game long last night and since it took longer to get the punt off the players at the line of scrimmage where 7 yards downfield by the time he punted the ball. That's a huge advantage when covering kicks.

According to ESPN, Al Golden interviewed at PSU but has decided to stay in Miami. PSU will now interview Mike Munchak for the position.

the pregame hype is starting to remind me of ohio state florida from a few years ago- Florida State played in a crap conference and dominated, but everyone is talking about how they just are the better team and the eye test... I've gotten to the point where I just expect Auburn to blow them out

I'm not much of 'noles fan.    Maybe it's that chop thing.   Be prepared for that BS tonight.    Gotta grid myself so I don't have visions of the Barves.

Well since my son and therefore my money went to FSU I learned to love the chop  :D (also I just never saw it as racist and it really was way fun sitting in the stadium chopping and "oh-oh-oh-oh'ing" with thousands of other fans, might be a "you've got to be there to appreciate it" type of thing.  Like twirling a silly towel  :mg:)

Same reason I pull for VCU.

BTW,  I don't like Burt Reynolds either and real Steelers' fans don't twirl towels.   Hell, most of us don't even own a towel of any kind.    :)

I don't mind the chop when the 'noles do it, and I think there are two reasons. First, they did it first. Second, it's football. Doing the chop at a baseball game is  like yelling "bravo!" at a rugby match.

I believe that.

But what's up with this part? Almost every steelers fan I've ever known is into that crap. Is this just something you feel strongly about or are there really a lot of steelers fans who feel this way? You wouldn't be able to tell from watching their game son TV though.

Maybe it's Steelers' fans of a certain age.    I wasn't raised on the towel.   It's kind of a late fad thing to me.   It started out like Franco's Italian Army and the like.    Then it became Myron Cope's towel for charity.    That's a good cause but it's publicity more than sentimental for me.     Personal preference I guess.

Corso was a team mate of Burt Reynolds at Florida State.   :)
