If you're hoping to build a team via FA (because that works ), then you're advocating that Shanny go full retard

No one is saying to build the team via free agency, but regardless you have to supplement the roster with FAs. We have gaps to fill and with no first rounder again this year, you have to use what you have. We'll have plenty of money available.

That last paragraph bailed you out.  But reading through most of that I was :hysterical: @ the idea of Michael Oher and Randy Starks (dude keep your college loyalty in check when it comes to NFL roster construction, what the freak are you going to advocate next, Edsall for Redskins head coach?).

As for the salary cap space, forget about it. Snyder will probably use it to extend Hall, Orakpo and Griffin to max deals and doom the franchise for another 30 years.  :hang:

Starks has been a good player, not great, but he is a 2x Pro Bowler (fwiw). I'm not advocating a big money deal, but I think he'd work well in a rotation and shouldn't cost a bundle although I've read that he seems to think he's going to get a big contract which I highly doubt. Like I said, I'm spitballing and Oher hasn't earned a big pay day so you see if you can get him in on a 1 year deal kick the tires. If he can't play, cut him.

Seriously though, piss off! Your Edsel/ExtremeSkins bullcrap get's tiresome. How about instead of responding to every post like a no-it-all prick, you offer up some suggestions. Then again, the way you do it, no one can say anything back because you offer nothing.

the kind of player that ideally fills holes (good and young) usually doesn't hit free agency, the best you can hope for is guys who teams are sick of dealing with or who don't fit new coach's schemes

Dude why don't you relax. It's all in fun. I was messing with you about the UMD thing (although not really ). But there's no need to address the DL. Have you forgotten that Adam Carriker and Chris Nield will be back next year to squander useless salary cap space solidify the DL and turn this chicken crap into chicken salad? On the Michael Oher thing, I guess you just blindsided me with the suggestion. If I've offended you I apologize.

Also, assuming Haslett gets fired, do we stay 3-4, move to a 4-3 or some kind of hybrid scheme?

How would I know, I don't contribute anything.

Seriously though, I think it's pretty safe to assume Haslett is gone. Although I find it tough to blame him considering he has never been a 3-4 DC and it was Shanahan's brilliant idea to bring him on board and insist that he employ a 3-4 scheme. Shanahan saw teams succeeding with that scheme and automatically assumed that running that scheme guaranteed immediate success without addressing the personnel (which they miserably failed to do). Either way 3-4/4-3 they have issues to address.

does shanahan have enough humility to reverse course and go 4-3?

Probably not but it's not like he's a defensive coach so it shouldn't be an issue.

Looks like Moss advised RGIII that he needs to start taking more responsibility as a leader/captain. Needs to use more I and me when commenting on teams woes.

Here's more advice for Griffin, throw the ball to Morris and Helu out of the backfield from time to time. Those 4 and 5 yard gains add up and soften up the defense for bigger throws.

This just goes to the underlying problem with Griffin: He does not know how to progress through his reads. Last season, it was easy. Everyone bit on the playaction and Griffin's number 1 target was usually open. Now defenses have adjusted. Griffin needs to develop. Needs to be able to get to through the second & third options, realize there's nothing there, and take the 5 yard checkdown.

I got that in both my home and office E-mail earlier today...they must really want former STH back something awful (dropped season ticket after 2010 season).
