Do we really have much history to go on as far as Allen goes? Shanny gets free reign on selecting rbs though.

He was GM in Tampa for 6 years and didn't impress much at all there. I don't know if he was in charge of the draft there but if so he was a disaster. Aside from Aqib Talib I can't think of a good player he selected.

If you bring in a real GM,  would they even want shanny or kyle? Ideally I'd like to see them start fresh with a young GM and a non retread coach

Interesting question. I would not mind that at all. I don't like retread coaches. Also, you would need someone who actually wants Griffin to be their QB so it may have to be a defensive minded coach.

I think Allen has always been seen more as a cap guy than talent evaluator.  I'd rather get the right coach than the coach willing to work with Griffen.  First choose the GM,  let them figure it out.

As an outsider, I think this is the way to go.    I don't think Griffin on his own is the answer or the start of the answer.    In fact, I thought Jason Campbell is a better QB.

Packers taking it in the ass against the Giants. Redskins will soon be nestled in the familiar territory of last place in the NFC east. Nothing like the comfort of home.

Is there any young up and coming coaches that we should have an eye on? Hell, I don't care how old they are or whether or not they have coached n the pro ranks.

Washington Redskins 2014 opponents:   :D

Cowboys twice, Eagles twice, Giants twice, Jaguars, Titans, Colts, Texans, Seahawks, 49ers, Cardinals, Rams, Vikings and either the Falcons or Bucs (probably the Bucs).   :hysterical:

More like 6-10

At least we'd be able to use a first round pick

Well good thing the Redskins and Wizards followed the Nats' example this season and will amount to jack crap. I would be happy about the Caps but we all know how that story ends, it's the same one we read every night.

Things I noticed, nice playing from Robinson today, I doubt it's him turning the corner or anything but at least he made some plays to put us in a position to win. Orakpo was better today, but I still think we're better off going forward with Rob Jackson at OLB. Amerson was bad today, though I think he played better than his first Eagles matchup. He's been great lately so I have high hopes.

Nick Williams reading punts is what I would imagine I would look like playing CF for the Nats after pounding a 12-pack, which sucks because I liked him in preseason. Golston was terrible, Kerrigan pretty much invisible. RGIII looked like Henry Rodriguez out there.

Just really disappointing year and game. I'm actually surprised we didn't get shutout.

The Sunday night home game against the Giants is getting flexed out to the 1 pm slot.

Yeah he isn't turning any corner.

Orakpo was better today, but I still think we're better off going forward with Rob Jackson at OLB.

Orakpo was better but they should either play him at 4-3 DE or look elsewhere. And no on Rob Jackson playing full time.

Amerson was bad today, though I think he played better than his first Eagles matchup. He's been great lately so I have high hopes.

:hysterical:  But I think he's going to become a better player.

Golston was terrible,

Nothing new there.

I have been wondering about the fact that so many guys have gotten out of the way of punts this season because it doesn't make sense (except the way he put two on the ground I can't blame him for getting out of the way). It turns out Josh Morgan claims that special teams coach Keith Burns has been coaching them to read the rotation of the ball and if they read a certain rotation to let it bounce because it will bounce back in the direction it came from.   :hysterical:  Are you freaking kidding me! If true, this is a fireable offense and why wasn't this addressed sooner? Yeah because having the ball bounce back towards the oncoming blockers with their backs to the ball is a good idea.  :smh:

They need to spend the rest of the season giving Griffin as much time seeing as much as he can see so he can learn from it and become a better passer.

The entire front seven, besides Cofield, has played like crap the past three games. And outside of Coefield and Kerrigan, they've played like crap the entire season.

Can we please switch to a 4-3 this offseason? It's just not working in the 3-4. Haslett has been hamstrung by his personnel but after 4 years there has little to no bright spots. Same with Shanahan. I think Shanahan is done if we done go at least 7-9.

For a new coach I wouldn't mind Ken Whisenhunt, Lovie Smith, or Darrell Bevell. I like Ray Horton but I am anti 3-4 with this team.

I'm all in on RGIII unless someone things we can find a late round gem. As we saw last season, RGIII has the arm and smarts to be an elite QB. He has to keep developing, but I don't see where we'll find a better QB. Also, Cam Newton has taken a big jump in his third season. The hate on RGIII is crazy imo. We need to sink or swim with him, not look for another boat.

Cofield has been better than the res but he hasn't been good either. He never developed into a 3-4 NT. He needs to be used as a DT in a 4-3.

The hate on RGIII is crazy imo.

To call critiquing his poor play "hate" is ridiculous. Why is it you're so willing to lick his balls when he does well but refuse to acknowledge when he is awful? Plenty of blame to go around from the special teams to the defense but Griffin has been one of the main reasons they have lost winnable games this year. The last two games the opening drives were failures after moving the ball because he missed wide open receivers. Both games also ended with drives that threatened to tie the game but he failed both times. A QB the caliber he is supposed to be finishes those drives.

We need to sink or swim with him, not look for another boat.

I hope you're right and he takes a giant leap forward next season but if he has another offense to learn we may need to prepare for a burial at sea ceremony.

Is Shanny still the coach? Because he will never spend big free agent dollars on an offensive lineman.

Can we please switch to a 4-3 this offseason? It's just not working in the 3-4. Haslett has been hamstrung by his personnel but after 4 years there has little to no bright spots. Same with Shanahan. I think Shanahan is done if we done go at least 7-9.

We'd have to re-tool again for the 4-3. Kerrigan is a OLB at this point, which means Riley would have to play weakside, which I'm not sure he can. We'd have to get another defensive end. Not sure if Keenan Robinson can play MLB, but maybe he's the weakside and Riley stays in the middle.

After 4 years, there's been no devolpment in the trenches and marginal development in the secondary. Basically, Shanhan has gotten us some nice running backs and a decent set of linebackers.

I'm all in on RGIII unless someone things we can find a late round gem. As we saw last season, RGIII has the arm and smarts to be an elite QB. He isn't developing. He isn't getting better. He's regressing. It's obvious that he has no idea how to approach and prep for an NFL game. Cam Newton was a more refined passer than RG3. He also had a playbook at Auburn.
