This.  It looks like a total sack of dung but the Star Wars fanboiz and morons would flock to see their children in a snuff film if Han Solo made a cameo and you put a John Williams score to it.

In that case, it'll be another Star Wars flick I haven't seen.   :)

we're probably going to see The Martian this weekend if I can find it on IMAX (haven't looked yet).  After seeing Interstellar at Udvar-Hazy I can't imagine seeing that kind of movie on any other screen.

The Martian is freaking awesome.

I have recently watched Bone Tomahawk and The Man From UNCLE.  Both were good, but not great.  Bone Tomahawk has some really sick violance in it so if you're squeamish don't watch it.  When I read that it was about cannibal indians vs cowboys, I had to watch it.

Why the hell are we getting an Independence Day sequel?

To remind us that at one time, adding Will Smith to the cast list was a good thing.

So my sister is claiming that no theaters near her will be showing the Force Awakens come December 18. She is 25 minutes outside of Charlottesville, VA, and about 40 minutes from Short Pump.

Is this even remotely possible?

And ten minutes later, I'm on the phone with a theater in downtown Charlottesville, asking me what show times I'm interested.

A few years late here, but I just watched "Kingsman: The Secret Service" tonight.  Hilariously irreverent little Bond send-up flick.

It was true till this week. What happened is the movie was offered to Regal and the independent Violet Crown (the downtown theater) Regal wanted the movie solely to themselves. Violet wanted to split it. They were in a standoff till this week when Regal dropped out and gave it to Violet.

Odd. Why wouldn't Regal share it and then give it up?

Missus didn't like it.   Thought it was too "dark".    I knew about Bulger over the years.    I didn't realize he was as involved as he was.   Guess I'm used to the guys I knew.    The "bosses" never did the dirty work  ....  any of it, let alone the day to day stuff.   For them, it was business.   For Bulger, it appeared to be psychopathic in nature.    I didn't realize the FBI was in it as far as it was.    I knew he was informing and they were handling him but I didn't realize the corruption went so deep.

In the end, the draw for me was Depp.   His roles are pretty wild.   My favorites have been in "The Rum Diary" and "The Lone Ranger."    My son got me interested in his characters watching "Pirates of the Caribbean".    Since then, I've seen most of his roles (past and present).     Going back, I originally saw a few of the movies I didn't even know he was in.

Depp is a fantastic actor (Edward Scissorhands and What's Eating Gilbert Grape are two of my absolute faves) but recently he seemed to be too much into silly type characters, I loved seeing him take on this role. Yea it was dark but I thought it was absolutely terrific.

Went to see "The Intern" today.    De Niro is De Niro.    The only reason to see it.
