We saw The Blue Angels in IMAX on the 17th.  It's available on Prime now, though I doubt it will be quite as impactful.

https://www.imax.com/movie/blue-angels

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt18573650/

After first seeing them when we lived in Honolulu in the '80's, we saw them at NAS Oceana last year.  We're taking our grandson to see them there this year.

It's a free demonstration, but I highly recommend buying premium seating.

FWIW...these cats are unbelievable, but my favorite is the Air Force F22.  Watching it "back-up" in mid-air is pretty surreal...

which IMAX? Udvar-Hazy or an equivalent?

You might want to consider going to Pensacola FL in the spring when they are practicing multiple times per week. We took the kids a few years ago for spring break and saw them practice twice, once from a boat directly underneath their flight path. The other time was from the naval aviation museum grounds. We also saw the French equivalent to the Thunderbirds who were in town that week to prep for a joint show. About 10 years ago I was able to get into the VIP area to watch them perform at Andrews during the big air show. I was about 20' from the narrator, hanging out with the families on the front of the flight line.

IMAX down here in the Fashionable West End of Henrico County...

NAS Oceana is a helluva lot closer than Pensacola...though for the season ending performance in Pensacola this year, the Thunderbirds are going to join the Blue Angels.  Skippy already has that penciled-in.

They flew right over our beach hotel balcony last year during Friday's practice. We have Flightline VIP tickets that include drinks, an all you can eat buffet, and a tented area...it still get's pretty hot in late September.

saw Wicked last night. I have never seen the play and have only seen parts of the Wizard of Oz, but the wife is a big fan of the movie (never saw Wicked either). It's a long movie but we enjoyed it.

Interstellar has been back in select IMAX movie theaters for its 10th anniversary. The run was extended by a week but ends tomorrow. We looked at going tonight but the theater closest to us is almost sold out for the 6:15 showing. There's also a 10:15 showing.

First trailer has dropped for Deliver Me From Nowhere, the Springsteen biopic starring Jeremy Allen White (who does his own singing).

Documentary on the Idaho Homicide at the University on Peacock. Very eerie to see some familiar locations in the documentary.

As a true crime junkie this case has haunted me, that documentary was so well done to give us the families’ perspective.
But for movies I can’t recommend F1 highly enough, just a great summer popcorn flick with non-stop action and the most charming actors absolutely killing it.

Superman was just meh. One of those movies made for the theatre experience and does not have much replay value when you watch at home.Hated the twist with Superman's parents. Really hate this deconstructionist thing these movies have with making the superhero's parents ambiguous./spoiler]

The lead is the son of one of my college classmates. Pays to read the class notes in alumni magazines.

saw The Naked Gun reboot tonight. Lots of laughs, Neeson knocked it out of the park. Not nearly as funny as the original but it held its own. Be sure to watch through the end of the credits.

Hmm. I’ve not found any of the trailers I’ve seen to be encouraging. Will wait for this one for streaming but glad to hear it’s probably better than I’d thought.

Watched "Sunday Best: The Untold Story of Ed Sullivan" on Netflix tonight. Absolutely fantastic movie. Mostly focused on his efforts to create opportunities for minority performers on his show.

Saw "Deliver Me From Nowhere" last night, the story of the making of Bruce Springsteen's "Nebraska" album. As a fan of Springsteen and the album, I enjoyed it immensely. It is based on Springsteen's biography and he had heavy involvement in the making of the movie. It presents a side of him that I had never heard of before. It dives deeply into his mental health issues and his upbringing. Not a real happy movie, but then again, neither was Nebraska.

If you aren't a fan, i'd give it **. If you are a fan, you'll love it. Jeremy Allen White is spectacular and could get an Oscar nomination out of it. He does all his own singing and is mostly indistinguishable from Bruce.

One Battle After Another is amazing.   The second act alone is the funniest movie of the year
