There are now 30 teams that are saying it is unlikely they sign Prince Fielder....however, I still think that one team is likely to sign him

Yeah it doesn't say a US team.  And it doesn't say baseball team.  Also doesn't even say sports team.

true, but an overpay doesn't keeps fans away from the park, losing does

Systemic overpaying leads to underperformance as well as teams get stuck in overpriced contracts for mediocre declining talents.  I'd much rather be where we are today than where the Cubs are, for example.  Does anyone think the overpay for Soriano is drawing fans now?

Sure, but Whining is Life was taking a jab Prince's weight, which is idiotic.  The Nats should sign Fielder.

no -it's idiotic not to say it is a concern.  A concern can be overcome by other factors, but it is a legit concern.  There are enough fat guys who fall apart once they get over 30 that the fact he has had a great injury history so far that you still have to have some worry.  Maybe not a disabling worry, but a worry nevertheless.

The Softbank Hawks are pissed at themselves for jumping on Wily Mo Pena so early.

I saw a Rangers game last September. Bearing in mind it was the second weekend in September: at game time, the temperature was 101. By the end of the game, the temperature dropped to 94. It was anguish.

Oh yeah, Sept is not the month things start to cool off. October is.

You're being too sensible.  Whining is Life wasn't doing that, he was being a maroon.

This is like waiting for Christmas morning except instead of it always being on the 25th, it happens at anytime and you can't control it. Don't give us freaking coal. Give us that awesome new video game system so we can brag about it to all of our friends/rivals.

But how much more money do we have to pay vs. Texas. Doesn't he at some point just become not worth it.

We already did that with Werth and we can't afford to do it gain.

Right, that Nats don't outbid Texas. Tx is the first choice. If they back out, then it is up to other teams to outbid the Nats. Fielder's a quality bat, but he is not Pujols. There's better ways to spend a ton of money than locking it up in a power bat at 1B in the National League.

Things look iffy on whether we might sign Prince, better start making fat jokes.

Made fat jokes before and will make them again, whether they sign him or not.

If we don't sign Fielder, I don't see much point in watching games that Strasburg doesn't start. The front office is basically telling me to check back in two years.

Does it make you feel good to make fun of others?
