Exactly.  It's not like hockey/basketball/football where you have like twenty things going on at one time.

That's why it kills me to hear people say "umpires are good at their jobs!  They get like 95% of their calls correct - people just don't talk about that!"

freak that crap.  They should get pretty much ALL of their calls correct (at least 99%)! >:( There's no excuse.

Seriously, if technology can pinpoint a postage stamp from space, then surely it can call balls and strikes to within 1/1000th of a frickin inch - ish like what we've seen this year is a travishamockery

DOWN WITH UMPIRES!!

Ok WNFF.

Time to declare war upon @Cincinattitude. I already Tweeted them. Let's all Tweet them and make them highly irritated sorting through our grumpy Tweets!

If you can grade them based on technology, why not eliminate the middleman and just let technology call balls and strikes

You would have to expand the strike zone, but this might be something to look at. Takes out that "human element" I suppose.

But what about the jobs impact!  this is an election year and all the people in Washington talk about is eliminating good jobs at good wages!  You don't see Smithian, Minty, PatsNats28, and HoustonNat endorsing this mass layoff!  That's because they live outside the beltway!  And Herndon doesn't count!

Another thing I was thinking about is what if the ump just had a something in his pocket that vibrated when it is by the book in that perfect small square zone, and then he can expand it however he does? Just so he doesn't miss any obvious calls.

Cincinnatitude? Oh come on that isn't even close to anything. At least Nattitude is a play on a real word "attitude". I feel that Nattitude is all about the passion for the team and the game. This imitation thing that Cincinnati is trying doesn't cut it. What's next? Mettitude? Yankitude? Osittude? Phillisatude?

Natitude would've been so much cooler if a player said it and then the marketing team turned it into our theme for the year

red light/green light in his visor.  I've suggested this before, a couple of years ago after a similar outrage at umps.

I should add that I don't think the umps would ever let this happen, nor do I really believe that it should any longer.  A perfect and consistent zone would just lead to every game being a 5-hour slugfest.

I am in favor of some kind of review system for close/blown plays at bases, however.

Cincinattitude = Marge Schott.  Probably the worst owner in any sport during my lifetime.

OK that doesn't have anything to do with what Votto said, but she is still prettty much synonymous with the Reds in my mind.  Probably not fair, but it is what it is.  Ha.

I assume that I can disconnect and trash the trailer portion of the "replica truck".  For some reason I really want one of these even though I'm sure that it will be among the flimsiest pieces of garbage ever produced by the underaged sweatshop workers of China.

Sunday, July 8 vs. Colorado Rockies at 1:35 p.m -

Saturday, August 18 vs. New York Mets at 7:05 p.m. -

Sunday, September 23 vs. Milwaukee Brewers at 1:35 p.m. -

The Nationals invite the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies, Cub Scouts, Daisy's, Eagle Scouts and other organized scout groups to attend all four specially designated Scout Days. All pre-registered Scouts receive special discounts on reserved seating and a commemorative patch unique for each of the four Scout Days.

Besides not being able to count or use the proper pluralization for Daisies, the Nats marketing group really outdid themselves in planning a special day to commemorate the Girls Scouts, scheduling the event for 1 PM on a school day.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Nats marketing department planned the Girls Scouts event with the GSA organization and that attendance by actual Girls Scouts has been arranged or is not even expected.

A different view brought to you by the SSS.

I get it.  You hate the marketing department.  But who among you would not pull your kids out of ONE freakING DAY OF SCHOOL for this sort of thing?

Parents who wouldn't allow a kid to miss a day of school for a ball game are jerkS.

Is 6/7 the actual anniversary date for the founding of the GSA?  if so, then that makes a bit of sense.

According to Wiki, the Girl Scouts were founded March 12, 1912.
