Morgan in Spring Training displayed showed no willingness to change. He was still over throwing cut-off men and getting picked off. I do not know if Nyjer would have gotten the same wake-up call had he stayed with the Nationals. He was told by a guy brought in to be a voice in the clubhouse to stop sluffing off and his excuse was, "You don't know me." That is what the teenage sluts on Maury say. Nyjer had so many issues last season and showed no signs of rectifying them in Spring Training. This is one of those things where you really have to get inside the human mind to know if Nyjer could have changed and stayed in DC or if his time was up, and moving on helped him turn it around.
And as far as Werth's looks of confusion on striking out I much prefer them to Nyjer's strut back to the dugout after swinging at a low and away breaking ball.
